Buzz Aldrin: Famed astronaut, second man on the moon, and puncher of smug faces.

Sunday marks the 45th anniversary of the lunar landing — unless, of course, it never happened and the government faked the whole danged thing to make America look super powerful at the height of the Cold War. Is that conspiracy theory likely? Probably not, though there are some who ardently believe in it.

Bart Sibrel is one of those lunar truthers. And back in 2002, he ambushed Aldrin outside a Los Angeles hotel and berated him about his supposed role in the hoax, asking him to swear on a Bible he landed on the moon and calling him a "liar" and a "coward." Offended that someone would question his integrity, and fed up with being pestered for so long, Aldrin finally snapped and socked Sibrel in the face.

An oldie, but a goody. And I am referring to the video when I say oldie and not you Mr. Aldrin if you are ready this good sir.

A true classic.
He was way out of line and had it coming. I hope Aldrin didn't get in trouble for that.

People still believe in that moon thing. Amazing.

Not as amazing as believing that no one has come forward with proof it was a hoax even though they could make millions and millions of dollars by doing so.

Loved it when I seen it a few years ago.

These conspiracy nuts are...nutty.

There was a documentary on SciFi last night bout all of the non-natural structures (i.e. buildings, pipes, satellites, etc.) on the moon.

I find that stuff fascinating, but I think it should be at least moderately interesting to just about everyone.

Not to hijack, but...aliens! lol

I wonder why this guy follows Aldrin around when there were 11 others that also walked on the moon.
I mean, there were several different trips by different people to different locations on the lunar surface.

I saw a great doc on SciFi as well.
It was about this tornado that looked ordinary, but upon closer examination, it was actually full of sharks!

Wow right!

I saw that and came away unimpressed with the horrible quality of the pictures and need for highlighting to "define" the structured.

Really? Couldn't get something a little more recent than Apollo 8?

I never doubted that we landed on the moon. But a my current boss is a very high ranking retired air force officer and he laughs at the idea that we landed on the moon. It really floored me because he isn't nutty in any way shape or form. Made me think about it at least.

no one really deserves to be punched in the face for what he said but the nerd with the bible did need to shut his piehole

He publicly called him a liar and a coward and more.
I think he deserved at least on solid punch for that.
But we can disagree, of course.
