OXNARD, Calif. – The Cowboys have already acquired three former first-round picks this offseason, just to see if they’ve got anything left in the tank.

In fact, the Cowboys actually had a fourth former first-rounder at the Oxnard practice facility Thursday.

Although the club visited with recently-cut pass-rusher Larry English, the pass rusher who was recently waived by the Chargers, left the Cowboys’ training camp without signing.

Probably figure he'll remain unsigned through most of camp and if they need him, they know where negotiations are to bring him in quickly.

I live in SD and have watched him play a bunch. I think we should pass. I would rather give some of these young guys a shot over English. Not very good and not very productive.

Let's move on

Looks like we did :)

The 16th overall pick in the 2009 draft out of Northern Illinois, English started only nine games in five years and played in just 52 of a possible 80 games. Playing mostly as a 3-4 outside linebacker, English did record 11 career sacks.
That doesn't get me very excited about signing him once he is healthy.

I'm sure he will be on their list to keep progress on. Read where he is still a few weeks away from possibly passing a physical.

Cowboys' front office doing its due diligence. You never know where and when injuries will strike. Last year it was the DL. The year before it was the OL.

I would venture a guess that English has a higher probability of playing and performing this year than Anthony Spencer. Hopefully, the other current DL on the Cowboys will step up and neither Spencer or English is needed.

He won't pass a physical for two to three weeks yet...and as has been already noted, another first round talent brought in to talk with.

I tried to find his hilight video. There wasn't one. next

Reminds me of the highlights of Kevin Brooks when he was drafted #1 by Dallas years ago: He was getting pancaked in every highlight; that spoke loudly about his future success or lack thereof.

Glad we looked but have a bunch of other guys that we need to see take the next step. Unless healthy let him walk right on out
