He bought each bottle at $9.30 each but after a certain time the hotel charges for not meeting a minimum of $42 per person expenditures. He got hit with an $85 min. spending charge. OUCH!!!!!

Have to know all the facts before judging. If this is truly the cigar room in the finest restaurant in London, they're not just gonna let people sit around and loiter. This isn't Starbucks. I've been charged $9 for soda at sleazy strip clubs in Miami before and I didn't complain because I understand the circumstances. I agree, they could have done a better job letting him know there was a minimum charge. But, at the same time, the caliber of people who frequent that cigar room would probably have been more offended by, "You do know there's a 25 pound minimum?", than this guy was offended by his 75 pound bill. Just saying.

Good grief. I'll be in London for a week real soon and will definitely be on the lookout for this kind of crap...

99 cents you can get a bottle of water in a lot of places. I think the most you'd pay for a bottle of water at a store here is like 1.50

Water is cheap if you don't pay for the name on the bottle, or for one bottle at a time.

I buy big deals of it at Walmart and I buy the Walmart brand or whatever it is. The cheapest. I never buy name brand water really. lol

Straight from the tap. Never understood paying for bottled water. And just the waste of plastic that will spend forever in a landfill unless you recycle.

I think people are missing the point. Look at the website for the restaurant. It's the cigar room at the most exclusive restaurant in London. You don't just sit at a table and have a business meeting without paying for it.

Yep, they were paying for the exclusivity.
