...I think most of the talk about Jerry Jones is just that - a bunch of talk.

This, however, I will never forgive him for. This ranks right up there with the Joey Galloway trade as one of if not Jerry's worst decision ever as our owner.

He might not make all the personnel calls, or the draft calls, but this is one call he definitely could have made. I've done a lot of thinking about this one, but it makes me absolutely sick.

The only thing I can do? If it's not us, I hope Denver walks to the Lombardi Trophy this year, for DeMarcus Ware. He is, in my opinion, the most deserving of a Lombardi Trophy in the league, second maybe only to Jason Witten.

Good luck, D-Ware. :(

Demarcus Ware is the only Dallas Cowboys jersey I own....but releasing him was the right decision, given the cap situation and the fact that players tend to not get better as they age. There is no room for loyalty in football if you want to compete.

I also understand, Sir...that a fan's love of his favorite player, just doesn't die. It only fades with time not in the picture.

The pats would've traded him two years ago and gotten two extra first round picks for him. We, on the other hand, cut him, get nothing in return and eat dead money. That's the diff btwn winners and mediocrity

It really is a shame that Ware had to be released.

I admit I thought he'd excel in the 4-3. But it appears that switch sealed his fate with us.

I disagree with everyone who cites the cap. If we wanted to make it happen, we could've made it happen.

That attitude is the reason the cowboys were driven to having to let him go. No need to continue to perpetuate the issue.

If the Cowboys aren't there, I'll root for Denver and I don't even like Denver.

How many sacks, forced fumbles, blocked passes, INTs, & tackles did he have in the preseason?

Demarcus Ware is a great person and an outstanding football player. When healthy he's one of the top guys in the NFL. When not healthy, he can be replaced by George Selvie. Hate that he had to walk, but this is the sort of decision that Jerry's erred on before, keeping guys a year too long, rather than letting go a year too early. He's become injury prone: The last three years running he's been hampered by neck/shoulcer problems. I don't think Ware manages a half a year uninjured, even if they play him less in Denver.

I respect your respect for Ware and feel the same but would you / will you feel the same 6 weeks from now when he again is playing banged up and can't get around the worst OT's in the league? Would you still feel the same or would you have the sickening feeling in your stomach of knowing that his salary prevented any attempt at signing free agents.

I root for the team. Not for Jerry and not for Ware. I would have loved for Ware to win a championship as a Dallas Cowboy, Witten too. As a Bronco? I couldn't be bothered.

Ware getting cut had to be done, due to years of laughing at the cap. When you make a bunch of ridiculous decisions, they will eventually catch up.

Exactly.

I'm a Cowboys fan. I have no control over who owns the team, coaches the team, or plays for the team. All I can do is root for the team. Some people involved with the team make me proud (Dez, Tyron) and some people make me sick to my stomach (Jerry, Jason).

I just root for the team to win. I appreciate the people who help us win and ridicule the people who make us lose. I respect the talent of players on other teams (Watt, Peterson) and I'd be ecstatic if they were Cowboys, but they're not so I don't root for them.

If I'm cynical it's because I'm frustrated. But I'll always be a fan of the team. Ware was my favorite player for a decade, and an hour after he left I forgot he even existed. Same would go for Romo or anyone else.

How often do pass their prime players on huge contracts get traded for two 1st round picks?

DallasCowboys.com has mentioned this numerous times across their radio shows:

-Ware was willing to take the paycut for this year
-Jerry and co. had their minds convinced that he'd never be 100% healthy ever again
-Ware had a higher offer from Philly, but decided to go with less money and play for Denver to avoid playing the Cowboys.

I love ware. On paper he had to go due to money, age and injury combo. However, the shame is that whatever cap and financial benefit realized will be squandered away on another bad series of moves possibly starting with Adrian Peterson, moving it's way through poor drafting, and settling at an extension or two for the likes of carter and/or Romo in another two years.

On dallascowboys.com, heard him on a conference call with reporters. Super classy guy, as always. He's handled the issue as well as you can and success will be the best revenge. You could hear the reporters trying to fan some flames and he just knocked them off with a smile.

He'll sign with Dallas again in a few years and be in the Ring of Honor before you know it.

I called the necessity to release ware before the season even ended. There was no player on the team paid so much for how ineffective and unreliable he had become.

Denver will realize that too this year, but it's too late. They already put themselves on the hook to pay him for two years.

Ware will either retire after his second year with Denver, or try to come back here for pennies on the dollar.

Adrian Peterson has always made it clear how much of a Cowboys fan he is. It makes a lot of sense for him to come here, and it makes a lot of sense for the Vikings to part ways with him after this year.

The Vikings can save 13 million by cutting him next year and he has almost a 15 million dollar cap hit the year after that. It doesn't make sense for the Vikings to keep him.

That being said, I don't think he expects us to break the bank to bring him here. He will give us a hometown discount to ensure his home coming and his super bowl ring.

You fix the defense and you replace Murray with AP and you're going to have a pretty strong team.

Passing on Randy Moss was a worse decision than the Joey Galloway trade because had Jerry drafted Moss in 98 there would have been no trade for Galloway 2 years later. The Galloway trade was a result of the Cowboys/Aikman not having a big play threat at WR. What made the Galloway trade blow up in Jerry's face was he over paid for Galloway with two #1's and he and Aikman ended up playing only one game together.
