W.Virginia vs Alabama

Bama doesn't look anything like a #2 team should. Particularly on defense. Not impressed.

Roll Tide anyway! We just aren't rolling anywhere this year!

Saban figured out how to stop the spread offense, play a team that drops 10 passes.

They looked better than I expected however too many drops by WRs and too many missed tackles on Defense with those arm tackle attempts.

I actually thought they looked pretty darn good. Speed on offense. Good special teams. I am not sure about that QB but he looked serviceable.

Bama isn't even going to be top 5 by the end of the year I think. Just not impressed. Their defense looks real average to me.

We scored one offensive TD, .. had 28 yds rushing. Not too impressive.

Sims was green, .. he'll get better.

Figured WVU would have a chance and they did.
Can't make mistakes to upset a top 20 team and WVU fell a bit short.
Lots to like if your a WVU fan.

Bama is not a top 10 though and their serial overrating really should stop.
They won't lose more than a couple with that schedule but they should be out of the top 5 after this win.
The QB is inaccurate and the offense itself is really 1 WR and 2 RBs.
The defense is no where near the Saban standard.

Alabama's defense will be just fine in the SEC, except against a&m and Auburn.

It's pretty early but they clearly do not have the bellcows on defense they normally do.

TAMU gave that defense fits with 6 or 7 first rounders on it.
This Bama group is far less talented.

Will be interesting to see if more SEC teams employ some spread versus Bama as they see it is an equalizer.

No one is going to blame Kiffin? It will be interesting who catches the most flak when they lose their first game......

right now and the last couple weeks last year it was the defense that gave them major issues.

the offense was good tonight, though wvu is not a juggernaut....
the defense gave up almost 400 yards passing to an offense that's probably not better than 5th or 6th in the Big 12.

Yea, I know but I was baiting the "Kiffin family" sucks(specifically Lane) crowd :D

I watched pretty much the whole game & I kept thinking Saban looks like he's just about to explode.

I don't think they'll make that playoff grouping.

Nick Saban tells media to 'fess up' on Lane Kiffin

Lay off of Lane Kiffin, OK? Because Nick Saban says to.

One game into Kiffin's first season as offensive coordinator at Alabama, the Crimson Tide piled up 538 yards of offense Saturday in a 33-23 win over West Virginia. And after all the heat Kiffin has drawn as a head coach at various stops in his career -- from the
Oakland Raiders, to Tennessee, to his midseason firing from USC last year -- Saban was quick to defend his top offensive assistant after the game.

"You know, the guy is a really good coach now, all right," Saban said,
according to al.com. "Y'all need to fess up to that. And most places that don't like him is because he left and they were mad because he left. They weren't mad about anything he did while he was there. Just do a little research on that."
