MNF: Colts vs Eagles Game Thread

Eagles are the better conditioned team. You will see this all year as they take over the second half of games. They stole Sproles from the Saints.

players are still getting into game shape.

the Eagles are getting their *** beat early in games. As the season goes on, you will see that carry through the entire game.

the only impressive part of Chip Kelly's offense is Sproles and Shady, and they would be impressive without Chip Kelly.

Exactly you are right. He threw a deep ball to Maclin against Jax but he was WIDE open on play action. Can Foles throw the ball deep? Of course he can. But, I think that Foles is very cautious on where he throws the ball. That was why he struggled in the first half against Jax because he couldn't connect a pass between a corner and a safety in zone coverage.

He needs to see the WRs /TE wide open or in man coverage to throw a deep ball.

He's definitely cautious....

If that's their strength, its a good strength to have... but o line, and the ability to stretch the field consistently is their offensive weakness...
I have no idea where Macklin stands right now.... he's porcelain

Yep, and that is the reason why some people think he isn't a franchise QB because he really don't make many plays happen. He is only good for getting rid of the ball.

McNabb said he isn't a franchise qb, but he probably is still bitter from getting released for Kolb. But, the fact still remains that they are beating teams in the 2nd half of games and it could be because of conditioning.

He's not elite, but franchise QB's don't always win Superbowls, Mcnabb can attest to that.... that being said, the eagles do not have the look of a Super Bowl team...
way to many teams that defend in the NFC....

Yea but the Chargers didn't be Seattle in Seattle, the Eagles went to Indy and beat them.

I don't think Indy has this great home field advantage which you hear ad nauseum the Hawks do.

But anyway just throwing that out there.

I think it's a greater achievement team wise to beat the defending champ. Fairly soundly too.

Like I said weird sport.

I shudder at the thought of the media's reaction if Romo had thrown the INT Luck did and the Cowboys lost the game.

I think refs blew the call, should have been defensive holding but they did not call it. I think Luck put the ball where he was suppose to be WR unable to get to the spot

Yes it would. I know you appreciate Romo (as do most of us), and feel he is unjustly criticized.... but like most things, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I agree but unfortunately for Romo, that never seems to matter. If there is an INT in the fourth quarter, he is a choker, no questions asked :)

And sometimes that's the case.... gotta live with it......
you take the good and the bad......

You know the saying..... Heavy is the Head that wears the crown. And the QB is the most recognizable player in this league where everyone wears helmets...
lets hope we can take some pressure of in the last act of his career.... and hopefully he continuities to get healthy.

Their o-line when healthy is the best in the game. Even with two scrubs playing, did you see that downfield blocking? Peters and Kelce were sprinting down the field in the 4th quarter slamming guys all over. As I said in another thread, the Eagles have Cooper playing like crap, Foles looking very average, half an o-line, Maclin still finding his way back, and they still lead the league in points and yards. That's not by accident. They did stretch the field. Cooper dropped a ball for a TD he was catching last year. Maclin beat his man deep twice and Foles didn't get him the ball. He missed Ertz wide open on another play that probably would have been a TD. They got help from the refs (bad calls both ways all night), but when push came to shove, the Eagles moved the ball twice and scored, while the Colts didn't.
