Thats because the simple minded just see a win as a win and a loss as a loss

Another post full of bull. Nobody is happy with how the team won and know they were lucky to win. They are happy however, unlike you, that they did in fact win...yes they won,

That is funny. One can enjoy the win and know it is still a work in progress and that there is room for improvement, which is much different than just complaining to complain.

Work in progress......progress rhymes with process LOL

I am as happy as the win as is everyone else but I am not happy about sitting on the ball and the fact that it almost cost us a LOSS. That is the whole point of my thread, is that this amazing head coach of ours almost blew the game today. Even while he has been completely stripped of almost any coaching decisions to this team the few that he did have to make were completely miss managed and he should be called out for it. Thats what my post is all about. Maybe you should just accept the fact that once again this is a message board and not a high five pat on the back board.

...but he didn't, so Linehan is a fantastic play caller again, and it all worked out for everybody.

The sucky coach ALMOST lost cost us a LOSS...but he did not.
Sitting on the ball almost cost us a LOSS...but it did not.

But we won this week

You will have plenty of time next game to have fun when we go to seattle and get slaughtered,

For now...try and enjoy the win...if that is possible for you

Never they suck. The players did not suck in any aspect which is why I am so upset with Garrett. Which is why Dez has been and will continue to be so upset with Garrett. Is because these guys play there hearts out for 4 quarters, make the biggest plays when needed only to have the head coach almost blow the game. The head coach dodged his own bullet today for the first time. Hopefully he will learn but I am afraid after 3 1/2 years of this crap that he hasn't.

First in regulation with 7 seconds left and a timeout to burn you run the ball keeping the same position for the FG on the left hash while gaining no yardage. A simple 7-10 yard pass would have gotten them to kick a modest 45 yarder instead of one for 53. Then in overtime after the big play by Dez you continue to sit on the ball and settle for a 49 yarder. What a joke. This game easily could have been lost yet again by the Head coach. I was still pissed even after Bailey made the FG because he set his team up for failure twice but got away with the second one.
Garrett still has not learned and I have no faith that he ever will. It is scary and I could almost guarantee that he will still cost us a win or two this season based on his very poor coaching style.

How about the turnovers by demarco, romo and Harris. And the romo grounding that had us punt from the end zone

I think u r confused about WHO almost lost the game.

me saying I'm disapointed the Cowboys win in-spite of their HC management of the game at a crucial time is in NO WAY wishing for them to lose this however ...???...

smh. and if it was incomplete?

were you paying attention to the pass protection in the second half? seems like you were not.

and as a general rule, when you bluster certainty, you are only going to convince the naive and the foolish. it's good for trolling though.

I mean never mind that he managed the clock such that we had a chance to score and not give the ball back at the half and regulation.

but but but but he should have passed the ball. . . .

He is just a terrible game manager. Why didn't he call timeouts when Houston had the ball inside the 5 yard line before they tied. There was about a minute and a half on the clock, there was no reason not to call a timeout there, Houston no longer cared about the time, it was all about leaving more time for the offense to go get the W. And it ended up costing us as we had to settle for a long field goal with 2 seconds left.

And who settles on a 49 yard fg? He is horrible as a gameday coach.

A timeout during the last HOU score would have made sense, but I can also see the logic in saving them for our own last drive and making HOU cover the whole field for that whole last series. Those dump offs to Murray could easily have cost us more time if he'd not been able to get out of bounds on either of them. As for the run with 7 seconds left, that was really the *only* chance you're going to take there, and it was a good one. It's just another case of fans complaining because the result of the play wasn't good and mistaking that for a bad play call.

We won this game, with the play calling we had today. I'll withhold judgement on the delay call coming out of the timeout, but that was an obvious error. As was Tony's decision that led to the grounding call. But those are relatively small potatoes for an offense that moved the ball effectively in end-of-half situations twice and ultimately set up two game-winning kick attempts.

IMO, the OP has extremely valid points.

The whole series prior to the two minute warning following Houston's FG was miserable. You need two first downs to win the game regardless of Houston's time out totals. Worst case scenario is you punt and Houston ties (which happened). Perfect time for misdirection or a screen to get solid yardage vs a run defense on 1st down. We slammed it up the gut. Then the inexcusable delay. The screen to Harris should have been the 1st down call, would have put the D on its heels prior to second down and short.

As Houston was tying the game, I felt a TO should have been called when the Texans were inside the ten to conserve time for a possession prior to end of regulation- I really felt Houston would play for the win and a 2 pt conversion which would have made the impetus for more time on the clock to be saved.

Harris also should have been coached to kneel on it in that scenario. I liked everything about the execution of the possession prior to Bailey's miss. The possession in OT was Bryant saving the team with a miraculous catch. And I do not like settling for 50yd field goals which is what happened again. This has cost the team in the past several times. It's a bit fearful playcalling.

My greatest takeaway from this game was: We did not play well at all, and still beat a decent team. and the fact that thee defense had to repel momentum that had built for the Texans to do so was big as a point of growth for the defense.

Also, someone needs to tell Tony It's ok to settle for FG's leading by ten late in ball games. Two costly redzone turnovers in this ballgame for my liking, and we still got the job done somehow.

I dont care about the run, I was just ticked we didnt run to at least center up the kick for bailey. Running left again I thought was the only stupid part.

If your kicker prefers to kick from the left hash mark on longer field goal attempts then you keep it on the left hash mark. Based on several similar past situations it appears that Bailey prefers to kick from the left side.
