While I do not see anything awe inspiring from Garrett, this may be a Landry re-up move by Jones.

But there is no way in Hell I think Garrett could carry Landry's Fedora.

I'm not opposed . I like the direction we're heading with minimal talent in several areas . Once we build that defensive front watch out.

I dont hate the direction we are heading in, but there is no advantage to extending him before the offseason.

Wow - five years. That could quite possibly push some in here over the edge.

I have no problem with this. Our 8-8 years have been rebuilding years and it's obvious with all the change that's gone on.

Most teams wouldn't win 4 games when they're in rebuild mode. Garrett is consistently putting a playoff hunt team out on the field and is steadily improving our roster.

Dare I say, it's a process?

This isn't like signing a player too early. The coaches salary doesn't count towards the salary cap. It can take away from any distractions, but it still doesn't prevent Jerry from firing Garrett if he wants.

I hope not. This team still does not know how to put away games and that starts with him.

Let the season finish out before you decide what to do with him. Remember, we were in a great position in 2011 and 2013 and failed.
