He was playing lights out before his injury..

getting him and demarcus back in the next few weeks has me excited as hell.

especially the way durant and ro are playing..

durant is really playing well alongside romac.

i also think crawford has found a home at defensive tackle...

good times are about to get better.

Is Bruce anticipated to practice/play this week?

I agree that before the injury Bruce Carter was playing the way he was expected to coming out of college. It took him a few years but the light bulb came on. I hope he picks up where he left off.

I think the system is easier to understand easier to implement. He's not a 3-4 linebacker and the last two years we've sucked

He was finally playing well again before the injury. Hopefully he can pick right back up where he left off.

His SECOND year playing in the 3-4, he is a slow learner. It looks like they found the position for him in the 4-3 as SLB.

You could be right on that. But his first year was lost to injury so its not exactly fair.

True, but he had a full year to conceptualize. He isn't good with do cover or do I go after the ball carrier. Sorry to say I think he is "dumb" player that cannot have too much on his plate or he gets hesitant.

That could be true. I don't know what you do with that kind of player. Great athlete but takes a lot of time adjusting to change. In this NFL you can't count on running the same thing every year.

That may be the reason why he may come back because Dallas will offer him a decent contract but it will be below Durant's but above what anyone else will offer because his inability to adapt is well chronicled, oh and he is a little fragile.

Yeah his contract baffles me more than any other, because I dunno what's going behind the scenes.

The other theory I offer up is that despite his athleticism, I think he is a player who excels going forward as opposed to backward. I feel like in the 3-4 alignments, he usually got more run support & contain duties while Lee got coverage and seam. The WLB required a little more work up the seam last year. This year, they're playing him in the SOLB role, which while less important overall on the defense, seems to be his niche.

I have no idea if this is the case, but I just feel like his effectiveness falls as he moves away from the LOS.

I think with Lawrence you'll see maybe 10 or so snaps against the Cards and Jacksonville before the bye, so that when we return to NY Eli gets REKT.

Can't wait for him, or anyone, knock Eli into the next universe.
