Here are the current rankings for our players in the fan voting, with their ranking from two weeks ago in parentheses. Again, this is just the fan voting, which doesn't mean a whole lot --

Romo sixth at QB (same)
Murray first at RB (same)
Bryant fourth at WR (same)
Witten seventh at TE (same)
Frederick first at C (same)
Martin third at OG (down from first)
Leary fifth at OG (down from third)
T.Smith second at OT (down from first)
Free fifth at OT (down from fourth)
Clutts sixth at FB (down from fifth)

Melton eighth at DT (same)
McClain seventh at ILB (down from fifth)
Wilcox 10th at SS (same)
Church sixth at FS (down from fourth)

Bailey second at K (same)
C.Jones ninth at P (down from seventh)
Harris eighth at KR (down from sixth)
Health fourth at ST (down from third)

One interesting note -- a lot of Cleveland Browns players have skyrocketed in the past two weeks with more than 100,000 votes each after getting less than that in the first 10 weeks of voting combined. So, either the Browns recently started running a VERY effective campaign or somebody has written a script to vote automatically.

The whole thing's a joke anyway. Of course someone has written a script to auto-vote in multitudes. The website has a 'Vote Often' invitation on it. I saw that, and left without voting at all.

Pro Bowl: Crass and shabby!

It would be very easy to write a script for this the way the page is coded without additional layers of verification. I'm sure they could dissuade the end results by logging one ballot per IP address if they were inclined.

Doesn't help when they have language like this:

Thanks for Voting!
To ensure your favorite players get to the Pro Bowl, please feel free to vote as many times as you would like.

I am willing to bet that if they dropped the whole Pro-bowl voting and game, within two-three years it would be completely forgotten.

Usually those types of votes go via Green Bay.
Well the chunky soup one's did in the past.

Looking at the voting for guards:

I don't know much about Joel Bitonio from Cleveland, however, I've watched most of the Cowboys and Packers games this year and Martin has been superior to Sitton. Sitton is a very good guard - maybe the 2nd best in the NFC, however, Martin is in a different league.

1. Joel Bitonio, Cleveland Browns
2. Josh Sitton, Green Bay Packers
3. Zack Martin, Dallas Cowboys

Also the fact that the fan voting has AJ Hawk as the #2 ILB/MLB in the NFC should tell you what a joke the fan voting is. Hawk has been benched for poor play by GB.

Joel Bitonio is a beast.

It's good to see Romo is, currently, 6th which would have him in the probowl.

Getting selected to the Pro bowl, by the fans, only hurts the Cowboys salary cap

Bitonio is very good. SItton shouldn't be above Zack Martin, but I'd have zero problem with Bitonio then Martin. They are both phenomenal as rookies.

I thought Super Bowl players weren't allowed to be in the Pro Bowl? If so why bother voting for any Cowboys?

P.S. Some of these just scream popularity contest. No way should several of these guys be in the top 10.
