Should Carr be Benched?

Now that game is over and everyone has calmed down, should we bench Carr? Is it the right football move? I mean emotional frustration at his poor play aside, would it actually help this defense on the field?

No. Carr has his issues but Scandrick is the only CB who's actually better then him on the team. He's severely overpaid and probably should be a nickle at this point. But I don't believe Patmon or Moore is a better player at this point.

No, released at the end of the season....yes. But, it will really hurt what depth is left if you bench him now. Let him see the season through IMO.

I don't believe Patmon is a better player at this point, but I feel fairly confident that Moore is better than Carr this year.

I was starting to think about it when he tried to undercut that pass to Maclin when he was out of position and in man coverage tonight.

Bottom line is somebody is going to get caught on. Claiborne was the whipping boy, and now it's Carr. This is the nfl. Unless we're investing tons of resources into defense, then one of our corners is going to 'look like garbage' eventually. Carr played awful, but it's bound to happen. Should he be benched? Nah. Let go for next season? Possibly.

Yeah, he probably will, but what about right now? We have two probable must win games to close the season and he is a clear liability out there. He is a man with no confidence. Is he really the second best corner on the roster right now?

scandrick and moore are our two best corners.

Just ask him politely not to jump any more routes when there is no safety behind him. He will probably get better if we can get a little consistent pressure on the QB next year.

Carr missed all of but a few days of TC and lost his mother this year. The guy doesn't look like he is mentally in the game and he's not playing to his strengths. (press)

That said, he is still way overpaid and he should be on the block or agree to take paycut if he wants to stay next year.

I bet Carr really misses Claiborn. Mo used to be targeted by the opposing QBs. Now Carr has the target on his chest.
