Here we sit at 9-4, in control of our playoff destiny, our division rival got manhandled by a team we beat up in their house and what do we see?

We can't win at home.

We need to do this to make it.

Nobody but us will lose down the stretch.

Why all the negativity?

Here's why...they are lining their nest hoping for us not to make the playoffs so they can feel like they were right. This season has been hard on them. They were joyous in all the 3 win, contenders for a number one pick, last in the NFC East, Garrett on the hot seat talk.

They have had to endure us bouncing back, a six game win streak, beating the champs in their house, embarrassing NO, getting revenge on Chicago and doing it all with a patched together defense and a QB playing through pain...oh and let's not forget the winning season putting an end to the 8-8 train.

In a season where this team is blowing a big, fat raspberry to the football media that universally predicted their doom we should all be happy and enjoying the fact that we are doing it a year early, but here we sit with the usual names dumping doom and gloom. It is sad, very sad.

I am going to sit back, enjoy what is to come, knowing this has already been a good season and what we do next is icing on the cake.

Here I am minding my business and now I realize I am not a fan because I think we we may miss the playoffs.

Geez, how could I have thought I was a fan this whole time? Thanks for the perspective!

Garrett rules!

I figured 5-11 so if we are 11-5, I will be happy, less happy of course if we miss the playoffs.

Only in the year when we finally start winning would we need 12-4 to be guaranteed a playoff spot. SMH

oh please I have come here way too many times even after wins where the same old moron are going off on Garrett or Romo or Jerry. After eagles win fewer and many just do not show up at all unless they have something to whine about. Been coming here for a long time so don't give me that BS

So the answer is: "people have NOT slammed the wins and I was just making stuff up to vent"

Got it

I understood why some were a bit pessimistic preseason due the 8-8 streak.
What I kept saying over and over was that I didn't really see evidence that the team should for sure worse than that. And there were many reasons why they could be better--which I usually listed to the boredom of the forum.
10-4 at this stage IS a pleasant surprise though.

Life abuses people. It constantly slaps us upside the head and whispers, "You do not know everything." It takes a step back, relaxes, and listens for the automatic, "Yes I do." Life has infinite patience though. It waits to hear the eventual, "Damn. I don't know everything after all." Then, in its best Leroy Jethro Gibbs impression, it draws its hand back again.

Life sucks when you don't listen.

I haven't seen any about Philly this week, which is good.

But we all know it's happened with wins. It always does.

We've had threads saying "I'll take the win...but" and then proceed to complain about everything in the world, even after a win.

There is at least one poster on these forums right now saying that the Cowboys have to beat the Colts now this team to be clearly a different team or for the Philly game to be as big.

In fact there was a thread asking if the win over Philly was a big win or not, since it's December and Romo and yadda yadda, and someone chimed in there that if we missed the playoffs then no it wasn't a big game.

So, yeah, there are still people putting new spins, new rules, new takes on things because, as usual, the investment in being right about the Cowboys is more important to them then the Cowboys doing well.

But you're absolutely correct no one came out and just slammed the win from this weekend. Good for them.

OP is a one trick pony with an agenda constantly whining about "negativity". I'm just showing that when the team actually plays well and wins, the negativity goes away.

Don't feed the troll

Total BS.

The mods can attest to this fact that when the organization fields a contender that plays hard and wins, the "negativity" on the forum goes away. don't take my word for it, ask the mods who deal with this every day. clearly, posters are not "negative", it is the team that is performing poorly and the people with ability to be objective will say that instead of having blinders on and looking for lollipops and rainbows.

Sure people will still look at the remaining deficiencies and point to potential short-comings and areas of improvement but that is not negative for the sake of being negative, that is wanting the team to get even better. I see nothing wrong with that. as a fan you want your team to do even better. rather have that than the constant predictions of 12-4 from posters that cant be objective and start call out threads once the team plays better after years and years of mediocrity completely ignoring the fact that they were completely wrong for years and years.

there is nothing wrong with posters saying that a team stuck at 8-8 year after year losing "win and youre in" games to division rivals year after year, in embarrassing fashion, is not a good team. that is a fact. if that upsets you, dont read the post. when the team plays better, it is fine to applaud the team.

for years many of us have pointed to clear areas of deficiency that the team should improve including the OL and front 7, and running the ball more but posters like you laughed and told us how defenses are built from the back end and how signing Carr and drafting Mo would improve the team and how garbage like Costa and Kowalski and Nagy were going to be world beaters and the team was doing a good job of addressing those needs. the reality is that was not the case. it is the height of crassness that when the team actually does what many of us had asked for and starts actually winning games, those (like yourself) who had laughed at those suggestions come out of their holes and start to crow and call out others. but that is who you are. you are not able to look yourself in the mirror and bring yourself to admit you were wrong.

it is called thinking for yourself, you should try it sometime.
