The Associated Press All-NFL Team is recognized as the "official" all-pro team with regard to HOF consideration, and the 2014 team is about to be made public.

Multiple Cowboys will make it. Will Zack Martin become the first rookie guard ever to make the team?

Who is Martin's competition?

Last year Louis Vasquez (Denver) and Evan Mathis (Philadelphia) were the AP 1st team All-Pros.

Neither of them even made the Pro-Bowl this year. This year's pro-bowlers (In addition to Zack Martin) were: Jahri Evans, Mike Iupati, Kyle Long, Josh Sitton, Marshal Yanda.

If I had to guess -- It will be Martin and Yanda or Sitton.

Martin certainly deserves it, but you never know. So does Romo, Dez, and several others.

I predict Demarco will be the only first-team.

Good point Percy -- 1st team AP All-Pro is big time important when HoF candidacy is evaluated. Pro-bowls don't mean squat.

I predict the following Cowboys will make 1st team AP All-Pro:
  • Murray (obvious clearcut candidate)
  • Martin (1st rookie Guard ever)
  • Tyron Smith (I actually don't believe he deserves it this year but I'm guessing he wins it based on his growing reputation and the Cowboys OL dominance in general. Tyron didn't have a bad season, but he played better last year)
Romo is probably 2nd team (behind Rodgers / Brady) as well as Dez (behind Antonio Brown and Demarious Thomas). Frederick might make it as 2nd team as well.

Yanda and Sitton are the 2 names I often see with Martin when discussing the leagues best OGs.

Do you know how many rookies have been named All-Pro ? Who ?

Off the top of my head, I know that Earl Campbell did it. Also, Lawrence Taylor.

Highly doubt it.

It's a whole lot tougher to make All-Pro.

I think there are only about 1/2 to 1/3 the slots.
