Report: Chiefs could cut WR Dwayne Bowe

The Chiefs are expected to cut wideout Dwayne Bowe if the sides can't agree on a reduced contract for the eight-year vet, reports ESPN.com. Bowe is scheduled to make $10.75 million next season and $9.75 million each of the following two years, plus he's eligible for an annual $250,000 workout bonus.

All this for a 30-year-old receiver who got suspended for the season opener for violating the league's substance abuse policy, then failed to catch a touchdown in 15 games.

To be fair, I think the entire group of WRs failed to catch a TD in 15 games.

The Chiefs should cut all of their Wideouts and roll out all Tight Ends and Running Backs as long as they have Alex Smith at QB.

Well, My comment was meant as a joke at the expense of Alex Smith and his extremely conservative game management skills, but I suppose if they did use that tactic then those defenses would be a fairly popular choice.

I think that is a huge factor. Was never impressed with Reid as a HC.

Ruined by Alex Smith. I said it in 2013 when they had a good season. He can't throw to his receivers and people laughed and said it doesn't matter, Chiefs are going to the playoffs. A QB who can't throw to his wideouts is a 3rd string backup at best.

I doubt there were many people that laughed and said it didn't matter. Alex Smith has few fans or supporters.
