TY is a very good receiver. Jordy Nelson is a very good receiver. Those guys have dominated games which have allowed their teams to be in position to play for a ring.

AND more importantly, they are not paid like top 5 WRs so they don't strap your cap

Unfortunately most fans (and there are several in this thread) that root for the player and not the team

I could care less what Dez "deserves", I only care about the cowboys winning a SB

Name calling will not help your case

None of the 4 teams in the championship games has a WR being paid top 5 money

Go back and look at SB winners in the last 10 years, you will have to go a long way back to find a team with a top 5 WR

The facts are that you are wrong and I am right

Like I said, you are a fan of Dez and I am a fan of the cowboys, big difference

You pay the players what they deserve. Dez Bryant is a top 2 receiver in the league, at worst. If you're not willing to pay him as such then let him walk for a team that will. And then the "no team left has a top WR" brigade can see how we fair with T-Will and Beasley as your 1 and 2.

Tom Brady competes for Superbowls almost every year, won three and tell me his big name receivers he had..They don't over pay receivers that's why Welker was sent packing. he had Randy Moss for a few years and didn't win a Superbowl with him....Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, J Jones, don't have any rings, they're considered top receivers..

If you going to subliminally call out "several" posters in this thread then be a man and say several names instead of acting like a little *** girl.

Tom Brady is also a strong independant man who don't need no wide receiver. The all time greats can get away with that.

A great WR can elevate an above average QB to a great QB and can also help tremendously in a young QB's progression(would Andy Dalton still be in this league without AJ Green?).

There's a bit of diminishing returns when a great WR is paired with an elite QB since they spread the ball around so much.

I feel like we're in the boat that Dez elevates Romo from above average to great and we're one solid blindside hit from needing to develop a young QB so I feel like we should sign Dez longterm to see out Romo's career and help bring in the new post-Romo era when the time comes.

A top WO causes plenty of problems with opposing defenses. You think that Dallas would be 12-4 without Dez??? Whoooa

He also allowed Williams, Beasley, Witten to get open and make plays. The impact of Dez is more than just yards.

This is true, but six catches for less than a hundred yards in the playoffs is disappointing.

What this guy said.
The attention payed to Dez had a lot of impact on the rest of our passing game.

If Dez isn't on the field the team is not as successful. The attention he gets helps the other WRs on the field. Do you want Romo forcing it to Dez when he's being doubled teamed or find Witten, Beas, Williams so they can make plays.

Dez is the heart and soul of this team. He's going to be resigned to a huge deal in Dallas. It's the right thing to do, though I don't exactly love it myself. You can't let that guy walk, though, without dismantling most of what you've got going on right now.

Murray's the guy you let walk.
