@RainerSabinDMN: Jerry Jones meets with the media on the team's bus: http://t.co/zWhJESoDVy

@JC1053: Jerry says since Dez changed agents they haven't had "substantive conversations"

@JC1053: "Dez is a player we want long term, and we want Murray for his career too. But this is pro football" -Jerry Jones

@JC1053: Jerry says they've allocated a lot of money to the offense, have to be cognizant of spending some on the defense.

@JC1053: Off the field issues are not a consideration for any player in terms of a contract per Jerry Jones http://t.co/x17zb8uojd

@jonmachota: Jerry Jones: Cowboys thought they had something done with Dez Bryant in the middle of season. Hasn't been much talk since Dez changed agents https://twitter.com/jonmachota/status/569165591153647616

Does not sound good with Dez
I can see the franchise tag coming

So Ian Rapport was right when he said that the Cowboys offered him a long term deal in late October and Dez responded by firing Eugene Parker.

The tag only costs $13M, while what I've heard that Dez's agent's are wanting $16M per year.

Considering that Dez of only 1 of 53 players and doesn't play defense you have to have some money left over to field a competitive team.

It's refreshing to see this team be smart with their money.

Could be Jerry speak, and they are closer to a deal than he is letting on.

Agreed, and it's kinda strange hearing that from this team, that they care about the cap.

Agreed
You factor in possible back issues and it becomes even more logical

Stephen said the same thing about the talks being virtually non-existent when he mentioned that we where leaning towards the tag.

Like father like son...LOL..
Thanks, I do recall that now that you said this.

Heres to hoping

I saw a report saying the Cowboys haven't had a meeting about a contract because they haven't heard back from Dez's agent. Supposedly they have put in an offer and haven't been responded to. IF thats true, I could see why the Cowboys haven't been frequently contacting the agent. Would essentially be bidding against themselves just
to get the ball rolling. Again that is if the report is true and accurate.

This is a lot of BS though. They've allocated a lot of money to two players. Romo and Smith. Who else? Not Murray, Dez, Fred, Martin, Leary, Williams, Free, Dunbar, Beasley? Perhaps you can add JW to the offensive $$& he's talking about. But JJ has spent as much, if not more on this pathetic defense if you take Romo out of equation. That's a complete spinning BS statement. This is turning into an unneeded, distracting fiasco. Looks more like a questionable franchise than it does an up and coming one.
