Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has created some memorable sound bites over the years, sometimes when he knew a microphone was present and sometimes when he didn’t. In a Dallas courtroom, Jones could soon be making a new wave of sound bites. The judge presiding over the lawsuit arising from the Super Bowl XLV tickets that…http://youwillnotrackme2.net/b.gif?host=profootballtalk.nbcsports.com&blog=&post=2316795&subd=nbcprofootballtalk&ref=&feed=1

I'm very interested in the outcome of this case. Time and again, disreputable ticket brokers have sold Super Bowl tickets and promised to deliver them in Arizona/New Orleans/Miami/whatever then left their customers high and dry. And time and again, when sued by the unhappy customers, judges have ruled the plaintiffs were entitled to nothing more than a refund of the cost of the tickets themselves.

It will be interesting to see how the NFL gets treated on this matter.

It's a shame it ever happened to begin with but I'm quite certain Jerry nor his aides didn't plan it that way. He'll probably do reasonably well aside from his usual hesitations, er's and ah's. In the end, he'll still be a billionaire, even if they levy a settlement of some sort.

Those ers and ah's could make this drag out a few extra weeks.

Jerry had nothing to do with any of the ticket deals or anything with the SB. the NFL handles everything with that. JJ only supplied the stadium.
This is all on the NFL and the ticket agencies.

Just thought I would mention this before people blame Jerry.

Jed is a lot of things. This, however, is not his style. He's only associated via his palace.

That’s a potential coup for the plaintiffs, and possibly very bad news for the defendants. Loquacious billionaires often don’t do well when testifying. For starters, they loathe having to submit to any authority other than their own. Second, they typically regard themselves as the smartest people in the room. Third, they usually don’t realize that the lawyers grilling them have experienced similar evasive and/or obstructive and/or non-responsive tactics dozens if not hundreds of times. Fourth, it becomes very delicate (to say the least) for the lawyers representing loquacious billionaires to properly prepare them for cross-examination, because that requires telling the loquacious billionaires things they don’t want to hear. (For example, there’s a good chance you may not be the smartest person in the room.)

Thanks for the hot sports opinion that is utterly meaningless, Florio.

This stuff is rag journalism. To get a bit Meta about the board, I would like for @Reality and the mods to consider putting some constraint on what PFT garbage is posted.

I blame @NewsBot .. he trolls a lot, but .. well .. the CZ staff is afraid of him, so we leave him be.

Is there any way he could possibly get life in prison for this?
