Mississippi State ILB Benardrick McKinney showed "light feet and quick, heavy hands" during pass rush drills at his pro day, according to an NFL scout.
"[Those are] traits that have scouts from 3-4 and 4-3 teams alike intrigued," wrote CBS Sports' Rob Rang. They're talking about pass rush drills in this article. 6-5 245 is closer to WDE size than LB size in Marinelli's defense.

IMO, if they're interested in him, it would probably be as a pass rushing DE and not a LB.

Who knows though, most of the time when we (fans) talk about switching positions from college to pro, it never pans out that way.

I was just thinking of him as a surprise 1st round pick yesterday. It wouldn't thrill me if we took him that early, but considering the well might be dry too.

It might be a little of both...perhaps a SLB on running downs and a DE on passing downs.

I think he may be a little small to be a pass rushing DE...I have liked this kid for a while, but like someone else said, not sure I pick him in the 2nd, although that would be a value pick at that point (early 2nd grade)...

Agents and reporters like to "link" players to the Cowboys.

I think he's going to be a solid pro, not sure you take him at 27, but in a trade down I would. Just don't think McClain is any longer in the team's plans.

That's what I am saying trade down pick up an extra third and I'd be ok with it. McKinney is going to be a good pro, though I actually like Perryman more.

Yes, a LB pick in the top 3 rounds should project as an every down player (i.e. plays the Nickel). I don't see that with this player.

His best fit would be as a 3-4 ILB, IMO.

I really do like Perryman a lot. I don't think there is any way Dallas takes him but the guy can flat out play some football.
