Love the one year deal approach. See if he fits and if he doesn't you're not on the hook for Brand Carr dollars.

It tells you how scared we are of getting bogged down with a player ....not just Hardy but any player it seems....

What happens if he has 20 sacks? he can walk?

Hmmm ...

One year deal is good as long as we have the right to franchise him next year. If Hardy was smart or his agent they would have put that in the deal.

Should've come with a second year option. But still, we wanted to see him wearing a star, now he's wearing one. It's not a time to complain, it's a time to celebrate. Release the Kraken!

Some people will get upset at the one year deal, but I can deal with it.

Same here. Leaves open the franchise possibility moving forward and gives us complete wiggle room if he gets in more trouble. I can love with it as well.

Prove it deal worked out for Bennett and Avril. I have no real issue with it.

The only drag is how long he gets suspended. Then the structure matters and should be on a games played basis.

I've always believed we would only franchise Bryant once. That this year is a trial year. If he can get through it again unscathed from an off the field perspective, he'll get his long term deal.

Then we tag Hardy (assuming he's only on a one year deal).

1 year deal... Ugghh. He is in the wind next year more than likely; I hope we have the cap room next year to keep him, and how does this p lay out with his suspension this year. Anthony Spencer deal with better production but none the less not a long term solution. Me no likey that much.

Can we please wait until the details of the contract is announced before we officially condemn it?

Well, that's friggen weird. Guess the contract language will clear things up.

Not at all. Likely a per game bonus and various performance bonuses. That's nice protection against a suspension.

The one year deal is great in that we can potentially franchise him the following year.

I expect his side wanted the 1 year to give him another crack at the big payday.

A one year deal?

Stupid Dallas.

We had a chance to lock this guy up for a few years and we didn't capitalize.
