I got a new TV that I was thinking of mounting on the wall.

Directv guy said he'd charge me $200 and I'd have to buy my own mount. He mentioned that Best Buy would charge $300.

That's more than what I paid for the TV. Are there better options out there?

You can go to Walmart and get a wall mount that fits your TV for between 50 and 80 bucks and get a friend to help mount it. I mounted my 42" Samsung myself. You'll be saving money. Grab a friend or relative to help. That will save some time too.

Now with all the questions I posted, what makes y'all think I'm a DIY person.. If it's not duct tape, then I can't do it. lol

But I'll see what I can do.

Try Craigslist services. Should be able to get it done for $50 labor.

Man i wish i could help you out. A stud finder, level and some 1/4 x 2" inch lags.......done.
Youtube it..........that will help a ton.

A lot of good options mentioned with the handyman one being the way I would solve all the problems. Going the Directv or Best Buy route are two bad ones.

Just make sure you really want that TV hung in that spot because it doesn't leave little, tiny holes that can be easily painted over. If I had the choice (and sometimes you don't) I'd rather get some kind of stand instead.

Thank you! I will look in that direction.

@big dog cowboy I just remembered I do have a handyman I can call. I usually only think of him for actual home stuff, not for stuff like this.

@NorthTexan95 It's currently on one of those small Walmart TV stands, but this is 50-55 inch TV in a small bedroom. Ideal place for it would be the wall.

I'd love to try to hang it up myself, but I can't even install a towel bar correctly. The one I have now is falling out of the wall. No way I'm gonna test my skills with a TV.

WG's Craiglist add...

Have flat 50-55 inch screen TV and mount that needs mounted to the wall.
Can not do myself.
Need someone to mount it for me.
Will pay $50 or go on Hot Date where you pay for dinner.
