What is the best way to go about it? Feel like I will look really good and ripped if I do. Have lifted and done alot of high intensity training all winter, am going to a music festival Memorial Day weekend and really want to go there ripped and lean.

Probably about 12 percent bodyfat at the moment, so its definitely doable....but I'm 35 years old so it does feel like I can gain weight much faster than when when I was in my teens and 20s

The only way I lose is just to cut back a little on each meal.
And bypass a snack here and there.

Go all natural. Cut out pre packaged and as much artifical ingredients as you can

Doable but difficult. As noted above, eat as clean as possible. ELIMINATE alcohol and any supplements that contain creatine. Cardio is a must as well. One thing that helps me to lose the 'water weight' is to jump on a diuretic. I creatine load a few times a year, bulking season, and when it's time to 'cut', I grab some at WallyWorld. You'll be amazed how much water weight you're carrying around with you. Good luck!!!!

Do you want to lose fat or just weight? There's a difference. Two a day 45 minute cardio sessions should do it.

I hope I am not hijacking the thread but my case is worse. I am 251 LBS and 5'10. So I am overweight by around 75 LBS.

My bad habits : No exercise, late night snacks, beer and wine on the weekends. Hate veggies.

I know what I need to do. BUT, how can I create some sort of rhythm in changing my life? :)

Last year I was pushing 270 and I got a fitbit pedometer. I used their app and site to monitor my exercise, food intake and set goals. I started walking, eating right and drinking lots of water. As my endurance increased, I mixed in some weight training. After 4 months I'd lost 40 lbs on the scale, which means I lost more in fat since I put on a nice amount of muscle. Good luck.

Track your calories/macros in my fitness pal.

Maybe book a beach trip for the summer then be like "I'll be damned if I am not able to enjoy taking my shirt for it"

Always helps to have an end goal in mind...even if its a superficial one like that.

Eventually, it becomes a routine and part of your daily life.

Make sure you're at a calorie deficit every day (but don't deprive yourself too badly). Fasted cardio/weight training would be ideal.

Hi Boom

I will reach out to you thru IM. Thanks

The hardest parts of any fitness routine IMO are

1. Getting started
2. Staying motivated when hitting a plateau

When you're getting results, it can become addictive in a good way.

I weighed myself a few days ago and was surprised to see my weight. I now weigh the most I've ever been.

Most of my weight seems to be in the mid section area... I decided to start watching what I eat now.

For breakfast, I will choosing between bananas, yogurt and steel cut oats.

Lunch: turkey/ham/tuna sandwich on wheat with carrots.

Dinner: Undecided. Probably baked or grilled chicken/tuna/other fish with broccoli and/or fruit

Any suggestions welcome. I'm married, late 30's with children who both play sports most week nights, so my free time is very limited. Also, I commute 90 minutes in AM and PM for work....

I would really like to drop 20 lbs or so over the next 2-3 months.

We do have a treadmill at home, which I plan using 3-4 days of the week. 30 minutes a day maybe?

I drink water daily at work, along with 1-2 sweet ice teas at home. 1 cup of coffee with cream in the morning.

While commuting, I do get in about 25 minutes of walking.

Make sure that if you do the treadmill, to do some intervals of high and low intensity during those 30 minutes

Go to the gym at night when you would normally be snacking.

Depending on what you snack and how hard you workout, that change alone could be 1000 calories.

Thanks guys. Very good ideas.

Question to experts. Where can I find how much calorie I should take daily based on my age-weight and height if I wanted to lose weight. I don't want to starve my body and cause my body go on defensive.
