IRVING, Texas – There was a time George Farmer thought he would be in the spotlight that Byron Jones is under with the Dallas Cowboys.

Farmer was considered the best high school player in California as a senior and the best wide receiver, ahead of guys like Odell Beckham Jr.

But Farmer’s career at USC did not go as planned. He suffered a concussion and even was slowed by a spider bite. He missed the 2013 season with torn anterior and medial collateral ligaments. He returned in 2014 and caught just 25 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns.

Despite the lack of production, he declared early for the NFL draft.

Had George Farmer enjoyed a resoundingly successful USC career, he surely wouldn't be with the Cowboys right now for as cheap a price as our #1 UDFA prospect with a mere $55,000 guaranteed contract. Granted, having had the misfortune with injuries as he did wasn't an encouraging note but if he's able to return to health and maintain it, the Cowboys will likely be enjoying yet another blessing to add to those we've already seen.

If there is anyone that I hope would make it this year its Farmer. Ran a 4.35 on this pro day. He can also return kicks and punts and would be perfect as a slot receiver. If Farmer isn't the perfect person to take Harris's spot than I don't know what is.

I'm not so sure Street is guaranteed a roster spot. Between Farmer, Greenbery(sp), Whitehead and Goodley he will have some competition. Farmer and Greenbery have some serious upside. If one of them is cut, I hope we can stash them on the PS.

There's whispers that Street may even move ahead of Williams before the year is over.
Who knows.
But they do think very highly of him.

Still true, he's not guaranteed a spot

I never saw much in Street, but then again he didnt have much opportunities. I think he is going to be in a real dogfight with the UDFA's because all of them seem to provide ST play as well as moldable WR skills.

Ive always seen Street as a poor mans Jason Avant

Never understood those whispers because other UDFA receivers were outperforming him in preseason games, never mind him supplanting Williams.

Word is Dooley is very high on Street. I don't see him going anywhere. We bring in Wide Receivers every year that flash potential and every year people are saying that's the guy to play across from Dez. I don't think there will be any shakeup among the top 4, Dez-Williams-Beas-Street.

Has Street even caught a pass in a game yet? Every once in a while they put him in and the play is designed to get him the ball but he never catches the pass.

He had trouble getting separation, he needs to be a great route runner this season because he has average speed.

They only threw it to him about 2 times all season.

I am pretty sure one of these undrafted free agents will make it and I wouldn't doubt if a second one beats out Street.

He was a rookie and at the bottom of the depth chart full of vets.
He caught 2 passes and had 1 first down....so not much from him for sure.
Hardly any chances either though.
