I know it's easy to get caught up when the new shiny toys but people are dismissing Street a little too easily if you ask me. He's Pitt's all time leading WR and @ 6'3 he ran 4.55 at the combine with a 37" vert. He think he can turn into a reliable #3 eventually

I don't see anyone loving on Street, but I agree on the hate for Williams. He did about as well as he could with the amount of looks he is going to get in this offense. With Dez, Beasley and Witten there aren't many more balls to go around, particularly with the focus on running now.

I would love to see Farmer or Goodley stick as a return guy, but I genuinely believe that is the only way either makes the roster. Unless the team takes more receivers this year.

Me either.

First 2 years
Dez Bryant
GP REC YDS TD AVG
27 108 1498 15 13.6

Terrance Williams
GP REC YDS TD AVG
32 81 1357 13 16.7

TW has very good numbers for a #2 guy who is part of an offense who has the second best WR in the NFL a HOF TE and a guy who had over 400 touches in a yr.

People get too caught up in the underwear olympics. That 4.55 is a whole lost slower with pads on with him. And you can see it during the game. The guy is slow running and slow in his turns. He slid down for a reason. Absolutely think a player like Farmer can replace him because of one thing, Farmer can play special teams for the Cowboys in returning punts and kicks, and he has alot more speed.

First off, I hope what I'm about to type is 100% wrong but I have zero faith in Farmer ever becoming anything. Being the #1 WR recruit in the entire nation and then doing so little in college that you don't even get drafted just screams to me that he doesn't have what it takes to succeed. I know he had injuries and unfortunate situations but to have all that talent and to never have even flashed enough to be a 7th round pick tells me there is something else going on. The fact that he didn't continue on an upward path once the competition stiffened makes me doubt he can somehow turn it back on now. It will be great if he proves me wrong and I. Am rooting for him to do just that.

Also you must factor in that our WR coach loves Street and thinks he can be excellent going forward, his words.

Can't replace good hands and knowing how to get open. These UDFA'S fell even further for a reason too. Street definitely isn't going to be a guy who stretches the D with his speed, but hes athletic enough to make a living in the NFL. I see him possibly being a Jason Avant type if he gets an opportunity

Relax...he's a farmer! A Cowboy Farmer. He is with this team to plow his way anyway the team needs.

He got a new Tractor as a bonus. Guess who that is...?

If you watched the Notre Dame-USC game this past year, George Farmer looked like he was a solid third round prospect. He looked fast, and was taking the top off the defense in that game. The problem for him is that he couldn't beat out other five star guys, and had injury issues. The talent is there for him to make an impact. The Cowboys could use pure speed at the WR position, because they do not have a guy on the roster at WR who has elite speed. It would diversify their offense even more.

Not sure that Street is nearly as cemented as people think off of an overplayed comment or two that people "heard" from Broaddus or something. We will carry no more than five WRs. If Street is that good, then he will be getting more play to push Williams. That is what will be the sign, not some idea that he is loved by Dooley. Dooley is the WR coach. Part of his job is to develop players and contrary to what people think, Street was not some steal. He has something that kept him from being drafted nearly as high as he "should have". And we have seen our coaches talk up players that can't play.

Kevin Ogletree should be fresh enough in people's minds to understand how things are sold to the fan base in small chunks, without regard to the bigger picture. Ogletree was once as good of a route runner as Terry Glenn.

A lot of people around here bag on Williams constantly. He is what he is. He's done exactly what his scouting report out of college said. He is a straight line or simple, one move route runner. He is a body catcher who won't make many spectacular grabs because of it. He does, however, consistently find the end zone and that is not easy to replace.

He is basically Alvin Harper reborn. But probably a better blocker and a lot better at getting open downfield when things break down.

Would I love another all world talent on the opposite side from Bryant? Of course. But Williams is more than good enough to win a championship with provided you are not expecting him to be cog #2 in a passing offense. In a running offense, he is a good to strong #2.

Street is looking in his rear view as we speak, probably not rest assured of his place on the final roster.

Goodley and Farmer are nice replacement candidates for Harris and maybe for Devin as well though Draft Picks are usually valued and thus pampered, rather, "given every opportunity to succeed."

Wake me when the Mo Claiborne pampering comes to an end.

Farmer appears to be a long strider and just pulls away from receivers after 10 yds or so. But he's also physical enough off the line to get into his route and quick enough to get in and out of his cuts. I like Goodley and Whitehead, too. Kudos to the scouting department.

Why would you think that Farmer won't amount to anything? He has flashed here and there from film that I've seen about him. I think they just used him incorrectly just like our new DE Russell.

I'm cheering for the guy to make it. Our offense is in need of a speed burner like him. I think he'll make the team and possibly even start opposite of Dez. With his 4.35 speed defenses just can't double team Dez anymore and get away with it.

Always good to have depth at WR. Looks like Farmer has a chip on his shoulder and can be a player. Good for him.

And for the record, Williams gets open when Tony scrambles. Street has a long way to go before he's got William's cred.

Street may be further developed at the same point in time as TW, but TW gets a lot of hate and the dude is a pretty good football player.

I can remember two huge plays where Tony actively looked for TW.

JJ Watt anyone?

And really, who can forget this catch? It was probably the catch of the year in Dallas. Not much "body catching" here.

What can I say? I like the dude. Would i like CJ opposite Dez? Sure. But as a 2nd receiver, I cannot complain about him.

TW needs more love from Cowboys Nation.

Love me some TW. Always have.

I love taking chances on guys like this. I would say it is an extremely long shot he makes the 53 man roster though. I think the best chance for him is to have a nice camp and get put on the practice squad where he could get a lot of reps and teaching. A full year of getting hit in his feet from Brandon weeded passes would do world of good :). His lack of experience is so limited it is a really huge challenge to think he could beat out other receivers for a 53 man roster spot.

Although In a year from now?
