*** Current Cowboys Roster and Practice Squad ***

I wonder who will be the surprise cut once they look through other team cuts.

Remember Rolando McClain and Greg Hardy come back in four weeks. Some of these guys we're debating (Keith Smith, Jasper Brinkley, Ken Bishop) better not get too comfortable.

I wonder if AJ Jenkins could have been better than Street. Street knows the system and all, but I like Jenkins from what little I saw. Was hoping he'd make the Oh well.

Im assuming Jenkins got opportunities in Camp enough to make that evaluation. However, putting him on the field primarily with Vaughn was really a disservice. In fact, preseason games were hard to evaluate any receiver without Romo QBing. From the games only, I couldnt say Jenkins had or had not turned the corner and could be the 4th Receiver. Guess we have to the process - they get the benefit of the doubt based on last 18 months

I like your evaluation, but I want to add something. Fourth and fifth receivers have to contribute on special teams, too. Street is on the kick team and Whitehead is a return option. Jenkins did neither and thus I guess was just caught in the numbers game.

Very good point.

There may be some injuries that make this a moot point.

so, who are the seven inactives week 1? my guess is, Whitehead, Weems, Swaim, Coleman, Bishop, Russell and Brinkley.

I dont think Whitehead returns punts week 1, so we are better off activating McCray.

Just speculation, but if a tackle goes down, I think Martin kicks out, so Weems does not dress.

Smith gets the nod over Brinkley due to special teams.

Swaim, Coleman, Bishop and Russell don't play due to the depth at their position. However, I can see Coleman getting the nod over McClain

They aren't going into a game with no backups OT active

The coaches evaluate other things besides catches. Route running, route adjustments, blocking, special teams, releasing, footwork, etc. All of these can be evaluated no matter who the qb is.

I'd activate Berny over Collins at this stage. I agree with some here about Weems but he is all we have as the swing tackle at the moment so he is a go. I'd dress Coleman, Bishop and McClain if I could get away with it and keep the rotation fresh all game long in the middle of the defensive line. I'd deactivate Hayden for any of those three mentioned above every week.

The Golden Cock is laughing at all of you.

We should be looking real hard at Jonas Gray, the RB from the Pats. Dude had like a 200 yard game against the Colts and was benched for oversleeping and not showing up for meetings.

Buy the dude an alarm clock and get him in here.
