News: Brice Butler to Dallas

That's a bit scary. We already have our 7th tied up. Maybe a pick swap, like our 5th for their 6th. Likely to be worth about a 7th.

Well, technically the 7th isn't tied up yet because CM hasn't dressed for three games. Maybe the coaches haven't like what they've seen from him and are planning on cutting him?

This is 100% hypothetical on my part and I am certain it isn't the case, but at the same time I find it hard to believe that we are willing to give up a 5th (or higher) for a guy who hasn't done much in 2yrs in the league.

Not talking about trading them. Talking about them replacing what they already traded.

But we already traded our seventh. If you can't trade comp picks then it doesn't matter how many more 7th round picks we get that way, we already traded the only one we had that was available to trade.

Right so now instead of no 7th, they have a comp pick or two end of 7th. Reason to watch the end of the draft.

I don't know if he or KM will pan out but Im loving the Cowboys churning right now. Keeping active to try and tweak things for the better.

Very interesting move. Can't wait to see him play

They should have multiple comp picks in 2016. I am sure a couple 7ths, not that they are worth much.

They can't trade comp picks but they could maybe trade their 5th for a 6th and 7th with OAK or something.

They kind of have to add a receiver with the Dez injury.

I bet you can't have the same pick tied up in multiple conditionals at once. That's why I'm guessing we're doing a conditional swap of picks. Its just about the only thing that we can do I'd think to make the values about right.

Good points. Perhaps you can expound on this topic more?

Gladly sir.

I feel like this will make the Cowboys very dangerous because now teams are gonna have to keep two safeties back deep because both Williams and Butler have the ability to run right pass opposing corners if there's no help.

Obviously that will be a lighter box. That keeps the run game very much in play. Then you have a guy like Dunbar. He's gonna be a nightmare for opposing linebackers. They have to play off otherwise he'll be running free, but much like McFadden can make people miss in the open field.

This allows Cole to stay in the slot and we know how dangerous he is. It's truly gonna be a pick your poison. We saw the Giants give up a lot of underneath passes and it came back to bite them so what do defenses do? Play tighter? If they do we're gonna have some big play opportunities with some of the speed with the likes of Dunbar, Williams, and Butler.

I also am looking forward to more Escobar. Not just in the red zone. His route running has improved after being pretty terrible his first couple of seasons. Guy really has great hands. Can be flanked out wide. He also can make things happen in open space. Very strong. We've seen him in the pre-season where he just drove four or five guys right to the first down marker. Not an easy guy to bring down and if we get him in stride deep down the middle that's gonna be a nightmare for teams trying to defend.

Also let's not forget about Romo. Look at what he's done with average talents at the receiver position over the years. Guys like Crayton, Roy. E Williams, Laurent Robinson, Terry Glenn, etc. He's so decisive, so accurate, gets the ball out of his hands and puts his receivers in situations where they can get a lot of yards after the catch. That's why even when he had bad offensive lines he didn't get sacked as much as one would think because of that quick release along with obviously that patented spin move and his manuvering in the pocket.

We'll have comp picks to even this out. Plus, if Michael never sees the field, we don't pay for him

I hate that attitude. Hey, it's cool. We have comp picks. So even if it's a bad trade, no sweat.
