Was it over when the Germans Bombed....Nevermind. That's been done to death.

I was about as down and dissappointed as I've ever been after that 2nd half mess. But damnitt.
I've been looking forward to this season since January 11th of last year. We have to get a win next week. I will probably be about as nervous for that game as I've been for any playoff match.

I know New England looks pretty damn tough. But " any given Sunday"
The Giants will be tough to beat as will Seattle and Philly. And throw Tampa in to that tough to beat catagory as well. But if this defense can get and stay healthy. If Dez can make the miraculous come back after the bye week. I gotta hang my hopes on everything I can at this point. It's just to damn soon to have to give up on what was such a promising season. The most promising one we've had in 20+ years! Plus. I'm not ready to start researching next years draft prospects yet.

This was a promising season. We gotta hope against hope that defense gets better. Weeden is what he is

I concur. This is a tough loss to swallow. They all are. I thought Weeden played well enough to win. We just need to get some of our linemen back on defense. Leary back on the OL. Play calling needs to be improve and I believe we can still win some games.

I hear ya. But let's be honest. If we get the win next week. We're all going to feel a lot different. Especially if the team plays half way decent.
Maybe we need to consider it's the first week that Weeden and this group have really played together. A week or so in practices be dammned. It takes a while for players to gel sometimes. Going up against a struggling N.O. with a pretty bad defense is just what the doctor ordered. Weeden is never going to be a top tier or even middle tier QB. But if we look at it objectively. He did show improvement today. Who's to say he won't continue to improve? At this point it really doesnt matter. If he doesnt improve even more. We're screwed. So I'll hold out hope, even if for only one more week. That he and this team and coaches can get it figured out.

It's a good thing you're hanging with it. Takes a great deal of courage to stand tough all the way into late September.

I'm not scared. A lot of early adversity for this team

The Falcons got us today. They are a good team.

The nfl is week to week.

A loss gets overblown due to there are only 16 games in a season.

In other sports it's easier to say we will get them next game due to the amount of games in a year - each game isn't as meaningful.

But it's still true that teams get up and down on a weekly basis. Fans just panic more in this sport.

An Eagles team that couldn't get a 1st down at home against Dallas for an entire half moved the ball running against the jets on the road very well.

The Falcons also beat the Eagles and Giants and those teams had more starters playing than the Cowboys did.

The Cowboys scored more points against Atlanta than both those teams did with a back up qb

Thanks, I don't have much experience hanging tough with my team missing it's best player. (An NFL MVP type player.) It's second best player and emotional leader. Two of it's best three defenders. It's stud up and coming rookie defender and a starting D lineman. Never had to go through this much.Hopefully I can continue to hang on through October. Maybe with your continued support I can.

I just want to be entertained! It sucks to not have all of our weapons. It reminds me of preseason actually. 7 games of PS! Blahhhh

This team has to figure it out. It could spiral quickly.

Hopefully we can beat an injured saints team next week. And then the defense starts getting replenished. Then we probably finish getting the defensive players back and get Dez back. Its not optimal but we really just need 2-3 wins in these 7 games. Keep us from falling too far back and hope we can pull something when Romo returns and the offense hopefully starts performing and the defense is fully loaded. Weeden is a below average QB, because that's what backups are. So is anyone else we could get to back up most likely. Today I think the biggest issue was we were just down too many defensive players to really put up a fight as the game wore on.

I actually had a feeling we'd lose a game we thought we would win and win a game everyone thought we'd lose before our team gets healthy.... let's hang on to the latter!

Luckly we get Hardy and Ro back after next week. And Gregory a week or two after that. That should help. If they were playing today, I don't think we get gashed like we did today.

I don't think we can beat NE or Seattle even with them but I think we can beat the Gints ,EaGirls and TB with them playing at full strength.

If we lose to NO and beat the Gints, EaGirls and TB, that should put us at 5-4 when Romo and Dez returns. We can make a run and win 5 out of 7 remaining games and I think 10-6 can win this division.

Thanks for the perspective. I needed that. I'm coming in off the ledge now.
