Workouts Scheduled: RBs Isaiah Pead, LaMichael James, LB Zaviar Gooden, DT Da'quan Bowers

This is just goofy. Of course this is the same line. They are just looking ordinary these days.
No need to dance around it. We had the perfect combination last year and we let it walk away.

No, they are not performing close to the same level as last year.

You can't be serious X. You are comparing Emmitt Smith of today to almost 20 years ago to an OL that is ONE year removed from being lauded as the best ever? Leary, Martin and Hanna are nicked up, yes. Are you saying that Emmitt's old 90's OL was never nicked up??? Ridiculous.

Heck, that 90's OL changed players constantly due to injuries/FA, never mind year to year but even within the season. The constant was not Tony Wise, it was not the OL players predominantly, it was EMMITT SMITH.

The OL performance is not the same as last year. Murray would be struggling to run if he was still here.

Not a single person saying that all offseason predicated their statements with anything about health or the like.

It was just assumed that this was a dominant line and even suggestions about Callahan were never considered. Just be honest.

Now, you might have said something about Parnell, so there you go.

Most people assumed the OL would be as good or better than last season.

Anybody referencing RBs assumed the OL would be as good or better.

I obviously knew it would decline without Parnell.

Even in the games Parnell didn't play he made them better because Free played harder with Parnell about to take his job. Defenses probably took it easy on Free when he did play last year because they feared Parnell coming in to replace him.

The same mentality that caused the Cowboys to believe Weed could play is what caused them to start and then keep Free over Parnell.

It may be a little naive but the offensive line is the best unit on his team and we should be able to lean on them to win us games.

Exactly right. Some people want to give everything else a free pass because Romo and Dez are injured. And I don't agree with that. The fact is, that just like the head coach said, the other guys need to step up. Thus far, they've done just the opposite.

The head coach and OC need to step their game up also. Both are stuck running concepts that were stale a decade ago.

Players play and have to execute, but coaches should realize the personnel differences and do what they can to adjust to put them into the best positions they can to succeed.

No doubt about that!

I agree completely, and I think they're doing the backs and the running game a disservice with this scripted if/then committee nonsense. None of them get the chance to get into a groove and it looks to me like they pull one out as soon as they have success.

I read that the team was also going to work out DT Kenrick Ellis. He's a huge run stuffer type who I'd love to see the team sign. He's 6'4" and about 340 lbs and I think he would help to solidify the interior line.

I agree with you. This offensive line deserves no pass. They have not been up to par. In order for us to have some success and keep this thing in reach we needed the offensive line to be the best unit of this team like its suppose to be. The personnel around them shouldn't matter.
