Garrett ground zero speech

Thanks for posting. These types of speeches give us an idea of what kind of guy Garrett is. His press conferences with the media are done a certain way for a reason.

Garrett has his share of detractors, and he's certainly not perfect, but he does deserve credit for building the right culture within our Cowboys' organization.

I cannot agree more.

Agreed and I really like Jason Garrett. I just wish we would see some things equivalent on game day.

Why were here is a real nice speech, puts everything into perspective about life. Just a game and nothing more when you see what some people have gone through in their lives, lets not forget this.

..anyone Looking for perfection has more issues than losing footbal games.

I like a pretty speech as much as the next guy.

But our collective reactions to such speeches speaks volumes about our culture.

In this country, give a great speech and you can be President of the United States or the Head Coach for the Dallas Cowboys even with the thinnest of resumes.

Wrong.

What's wrong with this country is a lack of knowledge and education. To think that some people would feel a "speech" is all it takes is the perfect example.

You couldn't be more transparent. Next time put some thought into it. That's what "great speech givers" (or for the educated.....orators.....do.

Did he say great speeches or our reactions were the problem with the country? No. He said it spoke volumes, and it does. Nothing untrue about what he said. Put a pretty package on something and people are more likely to buy it. Even if underneath it's worthless.

OK. I'm going to end with this. Words inspire people to react. Throught our history great words have been passed down through generation. Great literary works are held in high regards and move people to do extraordinary things.

For the superficial...every day words are used to provide instructions on how to operate the simple to the most complex eqipment and programs. The art of communication is priceless. What you (in the generic sense) do with it/react is a you thing.

I'd been unimpressed with previous posted Garrett speeches but this one was pretty good.

Wasn't Garrett the coach of the Cowboys before he gave this speech?

Good point. I don't think he got the job solely because he's good at delivering speeches. Although that skill can go a long way.

He is in New York to win a football game. That is all the perspective that is needed. If this speech helps them win then it is a great speech.
