Can anyone explain not punting with 1 minute left?

Game was won, but Garrett knew he had to do something to give the Zone something to bicker about for the next few days.

The man is a GENIUS I tell you.

Why risk a kicking mistake like a block/mishandled snap for 20 net yards? They had to drive 60 yards for a TD, recover and onside kick and drive another 30 yards for a FG in a minute. Why are you this concerned about it?

If we cannot execute a simple punt without fumbling or getting it blocked that's pretty ****** sad. We gave them the ball near midfield as a result of that.

This x1000.

You can't be that scared of a punt or field goal.

LPL gets the big bucks for a reason.

We should have punted it. If they scored quick and get an onside kick....it goes down as the biggest coaching blunder of all time. We're not Michiagn, were a professional football team, act like one and punt it.

I agree I believe punting is the right move...punt it out of the endzone an take the 18 yard differential in field position to avoid any major returns.. with that said, I don't think it was a completely stupid call. You always run the risk of a blocked punt errant/mishandled snap which is always a concern, so protecting against that makes sense as well. Plus the defense has been playing well so you would like to think your defense could protect a 10 point lead with only 1:09 left and no timeouts.

Excuse me. Didn't we win? Did going for it cost us?
It was the RIGHT decision.

Dumbest decision ever again by Garrett. You never ever give up the ball there Punt it idiot, they were fortunate to get the two sacks but this could have backfired in their faces.

The ball was inside the 40. They would need a miracle to get two scores with 60 seconds and no TOs. Garrets decision proved to be just fine as much as people are trying to play the what if game they blew it game. They didn't. Get over it.

Oh, btw didn't we give them the ball at the exact same spot right before the half and they went down and scored in like 40 seconds?

It's not about the result of the game. It's about basic decision making.
