Scott Weiland Has Passed Away

May I please just this once Moderators say, ********!

Oh! I knew this was gonna happen. Oh for the love of God. I love this man. I don't care what his problems were. This is really a tragedy.

Another one of the best vocalists that has ever lived in our modern music era has died. I am heartbroken. Scott. :(

ETA: Thank you so much, Matt, for bringing this to our attention.

Terrible news. Saw him with Velvet Revolver in San Antonio and he was incredible. Very sad, indeed. One of my favorite singers of that era.

This is right up there with Layne's passing...Horrible news...Two of the best voices ever.

Yes it is. With both of them, we saw the train a'comin', but they couldn't hear the whistle blow. :(

Will be looping the STP and Velvet Revolver albums tonight (Libertad is a guilty pleasure)

Hoo no, man my first concert was when I was 14 and it was STP. Sad, pretty sad indeed.

Stone Temple Pilots was the second concert I ever went to. I always loved them. Rest in peace, big man.

I am just really crushed over this news. Can't shake it off. I have loved Scott and STP for over 20 years. I so much wanted him to get better, even though I knew in my heart this day was coming. It happened faster than I was prepared for. I guess you're never truly ready. Music is how I deal with life, so I have to post some of his best. Or some of my favorites, anyway.

Good night, Scott. You are loved by many. Rest in peace, dear. :starspin:

I'm not huge on the "Tiny Music" album, but "Tripping On A Hole In A Paper Heart" is probably my favorite song from STP.

"And I feel....."

Plush - great, great song.... Both versions. Acoustic and original.

Sucks! I saw STP open for the Butthole Surfers at the Sunken Gardens in San Antonio and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I didn't even know who STP was until that show but bought the Core CD before I left and listened to it the entire drive home.

Incredible voice and I always loved his song writing. Plus, Interstate Love Song, Sour Girl, Crackerman, Creep, Big Empty, etc.

Nirvana really kicked off the 90's for me and while there were so many fantastic bands like them, Alice in Chains, etc....when hearing STP for the first time I remember thinking 'we are going to delve into an age of great music, now.'

That certainly hits me hard. STP was prime music for a lot of road trips and club hopping for me in the 90s. Thanks for so many great memories with my friends and loved ones Scott, may you rest in peace.
