I understand he had some drug problem, but wow. Anyone who appreciates grunge music, this will hit them hard.

Oh! I knew this was gonna happen. Oh for the love of God. I love this man. I don't care what his problems were. This is really a tragedy.

Another one of the best vocalists that has ever lived in our modern music era has died. I am heartbroken. Scott.

Terrible news. Saw him with Velvet Revolver in San Antonio and he was incredible. Very sad, indeed. One of my favorite singers of that era.

Huge GNR and STP fan but VR never really did it for me

But STP is one of my signature bands growing up as a 90's child. Its like part of my youth just died

I am just really crushed over this news. Can't shake it off. I have loved Scott and STP for over 20 years. I so much wanted him to get better, even though I knew in my heart this day was coming. It happened faster than I was prepared for. I guess you're never truly ready. Music is how I deal with life, so I have to post some of his best. Or some of my favorites, anyway.

Sucks! I saw STP open for the Butthole Surfers at the Sunken Gardens in San Antonio and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I didn't even know who STP was until that show but bought the Core CD before I left and listened to it the entire drive home.

Incredible voice and I always loved his song writing. Plus, Interstate Love Song, Sour Girl, Crackerman, Creep, Big Empty, etc.

Nirvana really kicked off the 90's for me and while there were so many fantastic bands like them, Alice in Chains, etc....when hearing STP for the first time I remember thinking 'we are going to delve into an age of great music, now.'
