That's ridiculous. They are awarded based on a formula that isn't open to the discretion of anyone. You don't think Jerry knows the formula and if he got screwed would just accept it. They hand out 32 total comp picks based on a set formula. Once the first 32 are awarded, it's done. Even if a team was due another pick, they don't get it. Teams cut and sign players with this formula in mind so there is no way the league can decide to screw a team and not give them the pick the formula commands.
 
I was hoping for a 3rd. But figured a 4th, 5th, 2 6th's. But knew it would be less. Like a 4th, 6th, 2 7ths. Surprised if it ends up at 3 6ths.

Is the secret formula anything like the secret sauce? Just curious...:laugh:

Every generation as they age: blame kids for being entitled. Welcome to the reality of human development and how kids behave as they grow up as teenagers.

Difference the millennials actually organize and take action as opposed to Gen X who seems to mostly just complain and not do anything. They changed the electorate immediately and now that they have entered the job force they are forcing changes in management structures and styles. What millennials ask for is egalitarian idealism and not the real entitlement of the incumbent trying to hold on.
 
I was wondering about that Parnell pick. The Cowboys are going to have a shot to do something special in this draft if the players are there.

yea, i read a few articles by "millennials" and it screamed entitlement. one article by said sector of the populace basically said that their generation killed the music industry and they alone hold the key to pay attention to as even though they refuse to buy music, advertisers will want their attention so that is what is valued.

so i'll pass on the millennials changing things for the better when they can't understand things like the industry was dead before they got a cell phone. :)

i do agree each generation goes in cycles and i suppose i'm entering mine where i am becoming my father to a degree. while we can point to the stupic chic who got torn up left and right about demanding FREE COLLEGE AND YOU PAY MY BILLS - well, that's just an isolated incident and i don't see that as common practice.

many of these things people get outraged about are either isolated incidents they parlay into the meaning of life, or select actual issues that somehow got more attention than all the other times the same things happen.

in any event, i may have spilled over into politics and i'll stop now and just say i can agree with a lot of what you're saying, just not all of it. but i can understand certainly where you're coming from.

I can cherry pick stupidity from generation X. Your looking for a reason and you keep doing it and trying to peddle that crap onto the rest of us.

Your zero sum ethic of trying to hammer an entire demographic down to lift yourself up is a bigger problem than kids feeling entitled to something.

Also those arguments aren't as cut and dry as you try to make it seem. At the end of the day this isn't a political forum so I'm not going to argue that specifically but your argumetns are hardly irrefutable. Take your 90's idealization elsewhere.

How many difference makers do we have on the team that were selected in the 4th and 6th round?

Performance really isn't factored in much, the avr per year is the determining factor.

Pittsburgh got a #3 because Mike Wallace signed the largest contract based of annual salary in 2014 ($11.95 million). For comparisons sake, the highest salary the following year was less than $10 million and awarded the patriots a #3 as well.

Kinda ironic considering Murray was a 3rd rounder and Harris was a 6th rounder

Pretty cut and dry, based on annual salary. Only place left to determination, is where the cutoff for a #3/#4 or #4/#5, ect is. Our pick had no chance of being a #3, there were 9 annual salaries higher. So even if it was Pittsburgh or New England, it would be a #4.
