What's the biggest difference between Sean Lee & Luke Kuechly?

Sean Lee won't be on the very top of NFL statistical lists...sorry, he was injured too much starting out. But as to quality of play, he is top shelf and a true strength on the roster. He is a blue chipper, and good at controlling a portion of the field. That's pretty important...as well as diversity in both run and pass defense, equally. I'm glad that he is a Cowboy.

I've never seen Kuechly get laid out by wide receivers though.

There was a time when the cheap shot artist wouldn't have lived beyond the very next play!

Ones on a good team with a bright future one is on a meh team with no future?

Well besides the obvious ability to play. I'd say Luke is better athlete.

Exactly. I'm not, because it's true.
I hope somebody unfreezes your brain at some point. Using your logic all our players must be the best in the NFL. That's how much sense you make, that's how true what you're saying is.

Kuechly is quicker, faster, and more agile than Lee. Not saying Lee's a bad athlete/player, but LK has more physical ability. Of course, the obvious difference between the two is durability.

This. LK is the best LBer in the game. Lee is not.

Using your logic, our players can do no wrong as long as they wear a star.

RW31. I bet if we signed Roy Williams back, you would be a happy camper, and would defend the move, and explain why Eric Berry is not better than him.

The front office of the Dallas Cowboys had Luke Kuechly ready to draft in 2012. However, they elected to draft Morris Clayborn. I want some accountability at this point. Years of bad drafting have crippled this football team. Year after year, after year. its a vicious cycle.

Here is a list of the 53 opening day roster for the LBs in 2012, also like to remind everyone that only two remain on the roster currently.

55 Alex Albright ILB
57 Victor Butler OLB
54 Bruce Carter ILB
52 Dan Connor ILB
50 Sean Lee ILB
93 Anthony Spencer OLB
94 DeMarcus Ware OLB
51 Kyle Wilber OLB

While I agree with your post we traded up to 6 to get More from around 15. Luke was taken at 9. Barring a trade we had no shot at Luke. If anything we should have double dip in the draft and got Lee and Bowman in the 2010 draft. We had first round grades on both players.

Kuechly is quite simply the better player.

  • Durability - The biggest thing. If you are not available half the time, you cannot get better.
  • Bigger - Much bigger and stronger.
  • Better hair - Sean is getting a little thin up there.

AND Speed - Kuechly is faster than Sean Lee.

He posted 40 times in the 4.5 range vs Sean Lee being in the 4.7 range

4.71 vs 4.58, hardly a difference. And what does any of that have to do with whether he's better or not? This ain't the olympics.

It's easy to feel that way right now, but at the time, that wasn't a bad LB corps at all. Lee was coming off an all-pro level season with 4 INTS, and 105 tackles, Ware had 19.5 sacks, Spencer had 6 and Carter and Connor were seen as adequate players.

Claiborne was easily the number 1 rated DB prospect that year and it was much more plausible to upgrade our secondary than to add a LB to what was a pretty strong group going into the season.

I don't understand why Claiborne would be the top rated back? He ran a sub 4.5 in the 40, his hips was too stiff to be able to break to the ball, and can't tackle worth a lick. They gave him the tag the "next Deion" but his combine showing and abilities says otherwise.

If anyone was going to be the bust of that draft it was Claiborne.

40 yard dash times are standard player evaluation metrics used in the NFL. I did not give an opinion on which player was better.

Concerning a 4.71 vs a 4.58 time for a 240 pound LB. If all other measures are equal that is a considerable difference.

IMO - Sean Lee is a great player for the team and I hope he continues to stay healthy, but Kuechly is better.

Lol you really think there is hardly a difference between a 4.71 and a 4.58?
