2016 WWE Royal Rumble - Winners Bolded

LoL at it being 2016 and HHH is the champion. WWE . At this point Vince will win it soon. The writers are just terrible.

Was always a wcw guy growing up, kinda miss it not being an option anymore.

Problem with WWE is that they are not building bad guys and using good guys to sell merchandise. When the company best heel is a full time corporate employee, then you have problems. Guys like Cena, Ziggler, Reigns shoukd be heels while guys like the Wyatt family should be booked stronger.

Cena turning heel would be so refreshing and somewhat daring. Sadly wwe isn't In that business. They'll have strong wrestlers and book them hard for a few months only to completely forget about it and they'll disappear to the midcard.

Glad Styles got some time and wasn't quickly eliminated. Was hoping for a legend or two to show up.. oh well. HHH winning? Blah.

Wish they had Becky win the Divas (that needs to change to Women's) title but knew that wouldn't happen.

What a stupid angle. Just when you think the poor writing and scripting can't get any worse, there ya go!

It's their ridiculous insistence in trying to get Roman Reigns over to the masses that's the biggest problem. It's solely about him and what happens to that character. To the detriment of everything else in the company.

You're right. Can't argue with that.

Well there you go. Lol. WWE needs a bad guy to hold the belt. When the announcers were talking about the winner going to Wrestlemania, that was the clue that belt wont be defended.
HHH is only keeping the belt warm for Rollins since this was suppose to be a feud. Problem is who will Rollins face after HHH and I still think it will be Reigns as a Authority member.
What i didnt like was HHH was the only person eliminating Reigns. I think it would of made more sense for Ambrose to eliminate Reigns.

Yeah the ending made no real sense to me. It seems like panic mode, IMO, by the WWE that they think they need HHH to headline Mania for PPV buys.

I knew he'd cost Reigns the belt but I wasn't expected that he'd win it. Stupid, IMO.

Could have been worse I guess... the could have gave the belt to Big Show.

You're right. That would have been worse... barely.

But to give it to an almost 50-yo, who's Vince's son-in-law and doesn't wrestle much anymore... Awful.

LOL!

They script it for him to win and then they think it's a big deal.

Bret Hart Believes 2016 Royal Rumble Was ‘The Worst’ He’s Seen
Posted By: Ben Kerin on Jan 26, 2016

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart recently spoke with WrestleZone Radio in which he gave his thoughts on this year’s Royal Rumble which he felt was one of the worst:

“I wasn’t that impressed with [the Rumble match]. I thought it was one of the least exciting ones I’ve ever watched. I just didn’t find it very exciting. I found it very predictable. When all of the guys came out and ganged up on Roman Reigns, I knew that he was going to come back out later. It was just so easy to figure out. It was not suspenseful…

…Even when it got down to the last four guys, I was surprised that they were the four guys. That they would pin the whole hopes of WrestleMania on the hopes of these four guys. Or two of them anyway. I didn’t like the decision that Triple H, surprise, put the belt on himself again. It just seemed like it just showed a real lack of imagination, if you ask me.

I watched three hours of wrestling last night and I got very little out of it. When it was over, I thought, “That was the worst Royal Rumble I think I’ve ever watched.” Maybe next to the one from a couple of years ago. There was another lousy one. I just really had higher expectations. When I say all of my criticisms, I just want to be honest. I have a lot of respect for the talent… They do good stuff out there. It’s how they are used.”

HHH and the never-ending quest for him to wear the title belt... just eye-rolling.

The guy is a very good wrestler, but I've never considered him elite. I couldn't give you an example of a great match the guy was in. Not like Flair-Brody in the Checkerdome in '83 or the Flair-Steamboat matches.

He's the greatest mid carder of all-time. No other wrestler has gotten so far with so little true talent. All of his reported 'great matches' were the result of superior workers bumping their brains out for him (Mick Foley) or vastly more talented performers carrying the match (TheRock, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker). But put him in a match with a worse worker (Kevin Nash, Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner), and the thing looks like a train wreck.

But I give the guy credit for developmental and NXT. He's doing an awesome job there.

HHH can still go, is in the shape of a 30 year old, and is all around better than 90% of the roster.

I don't see the problem.....taker was the same age last time he had the belt.

He wont have it long anyway.

You must have missed Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Lex Luger, Batista, and Kevin Nash

Just off the top of my head

Hogan is the only one who has come close to the rewards that HHH has received. And even he, with all of his political maneuvering , never married into the family business.

You must have missed that. Just off the top of my head.
