So Elway is the only one on that list with a cannon. It's not a prerequisite for being great in the NFL. Lots of mediocre QBs with a cannon, like Mallett, George, Leaf.

Flacco? The guy he's being compared too

He hasn't been a great QB though. Doug Williams, Flacco, Elway and Favre are the only ones I can think of with a ring who had a cannon. Two of those guys were medicore.

IMO you take a QB in this draft but you take one with the idea of what he will be in two years time and not today. I don't think any of these draft picks could do better as a rookie than Kellen Moore would, though Goff might. The learning curve is just too high and despite last year's debacle the odds are higher than not that Romo will stay healthy and the draft pick won't play.

I think Lynch could have the same upside as Wentz and more than Goff, if we took him at 15 or 20 in a trade down I would be a lot happier than spending the pick at 4 on Goff (I think Wentz goes earlier).

He was far worse than Wentz and Goff. If you watched him throw he would throw off his left leg forward and lock the knee. If someone hit him in that leg the knee would be severely damaged. Also, when he ran to avoid a pass rush he jumped in making the throw. He needs a lot of training before he hits the NFL field.

Aaron Rodgers most definitely has a cannon. Peyton in his prime, could make every throw. Big Ben also has a strong arm.

There are plenty of guys with strong arms, it's just rare you get to wing it like that.

You've missed quite a few. Terry Bradshaw had arguably the strongest arm of all time. Joe Namath had a cannon. Plunkett had a huge arm as well. And really, Troy had a cannon as well. The famous pass to Rocket in the OT against the Skins was a greatly display of that. Play action and a little flick of the wrist and the ball was gone on a frozen rope.

That's another 10 rings between those 4 QB's.

Really hard to judge....there are 24 mph wind gusts so balls are going all over the place. He is throwing with the wind as well. I have already seen more bad throws than I did in the entire workouts for Goff or Wentz. Mayock just speculated at the end that a coach may ask him to turn and throw some into the wind, along the lines of the wet ball for Wentz and Goff.

Despite the conditions, he just doesn't look nearly as polished ad Goff or Wentz did.

With the wind like that, why didn't they bring the workout indoors?

I am talking more about the entire body of work including all film and workouts, not just underwear olympics and planned throws without defenders on the field.

He has an elongated wind up, far from a quick release and has real accuracy issues on tape. He also has a tendency to put too much mustard on some of his throws causing them to sail, which calls into question his touch.

I have said all along I think he has the highest ceiling of any QB in the draft, but he needs significant work on those areas of his game.

There is no doubt Lynch needs to develop but that's what we need. The future right, a guy to sit and learn behind Romo. Now if Romo was done and we needed a rookie starting then you go with Goff.

Lynch I feel well be the best QB in this draft when careers are said and done. He needs development though as most these QBs do.

We don't need all-the-tools guy who needs to develop. Usually they don't.

I have read many comments from many sources that say none of these QBs are day one starters. I agree as I am sure most of you do . I have never seen a rookie play the first game of the season and honestly think that he really fit in and played well. It would not surprise me ,however , if there is one of the three top rookie QBs that comes in and is able to play some by the season's end. I don't see Moore as much of a back-up QB and all three of the top rookies certainly has a better arm than Moore. They just need to grasp the mental side of the game.

He's made far better great throws than Goff or Wentz. His throws outside the numbers has been tremendous. He's trimmed the fat off his footwork. He's struggled a bit with locating passes on the left, but the wind is blowing hard from that way. He also made some incredible throws on the run which is where he struggled a bit this season which is a product of improved footwork. He's anticipating pretty well, but has had some throws where his timing is a little off.

His improvement in his footwork in 3 months is extremely promising. Would like to see him throw more into the wind.

My guess...I think he's too good to pass up at #4 because he's probably gone by 7.

His foot work looked 100% better than what he did @ the combine...that was my biggest concern....I'd even go as far as saying his footwork was the best of all 3..(Wentz,Goff and Lynch). He's got the best arm by far...Took control of the simulated 2 minute drill... If he is the pick....I've got no problem with it. And if you can trade down and still get him...then I think your stealing. But I'm not sure it's worth the risk. Would look pretty stupid if you traded down for a mid round pick...only to lose your franchise QB.:banghead:

I thought he was good. I didn't think he was as accurate as Goff or Wentz were. He showed the big arm and improved footwork so you have to say it was a good day for him. In the grand scheme, I don't think it moves him any closer to Goff or Wentz. It does probably seperate him from Cook.

I'd like to see Goff and Wentz try throwing in 30MPH wind gusts....and be accurate. I seriously doubt Goff even makes it to the hash mark on a deep out throw...

All things considered....I thought Lynch was outstanding. He really flashed big time ability.
