Moving Day

Nothing worse than moving Dooms.

When my friends move......my truck breaks right before moving day.

Hope your back is good and you've adopted the 5S model when moving. ;)

Rented 26 foot truck you would think it would make things easier? It didn't. lol
Was so sore the next day but still a lot of work was left to do. But the hard part is now over

Nothing worse than moving and painting...

Hang in there...

You are a man of deep wisdom.

I once swore I would never own another pick-up truck because some SOB was always wanting me to help him move.

Congrats on your new home Doomsday.

Back 25+ years ago, I was one of the few in the company I worked for with a DL to drive our giant bobtail truck. I was getting asked to help someone move every weekend with a promise to help me at some point. Not ONE person ever returned the favor. My last 8 moves have been 100% solo outside of the guys I hired to help on the last one...

NEVER AGAIN!!!

1 gallon of gas.

1 Match.

Move completed.

Last time we moved, literally moved about 1/2 mile from my old house. We hired movers to move all the furniture while we moved all of the "little" things. We worked 16 hours straight making round trips with those "little" things. It is amazing hpw much crap you can accumolate in your attic, garage, closets, etc......

Saturday I had to move 3 houses, my stuff from storage, my soon to be wife into our home and her mom who is now living in wife's old house. All I can say is it was a living hell getting it all the heavy moving in 1 day.

But I am now in my new home

Did you have a crew to help out?

Ouch...
Hopefully it was Saturday....

It was Saturday that was all heavy stuff then Sunday rolled around and I was hauling boxes all day to the new house and my mother in laws home. Needless to say I found muscles I did not know I had because they hurt like heck. lol

And it's not just moving. It's "Hey, I bought (any large and heavy item you can think of), can you help me get it home?"

When I have that much to move I hire a crew... beer and pizza after the job is done. Friends and family are good like that.

I used to move a lot growing up and during my 20+ years in the Air Force. When I moved in my house in 2002 I told myself the next time I move it will be someone else doing the moving as I wasn't going to lift a finger. I've had too many aching muscles and stress filled days doing it myself. I would gladly pay a company to move me.

I don't know how moving people do it as their job every day.
