Two days away from the 2016 NFL Draft, the Saints have emerged as a team with plenty of interest in landing a promising rookie quarterback.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that New Orleans staged internal talks about moving up to No. 1 before the Los Angeles Rams swung a monster deal with the Titans for the first overall pick. The terms of that swap proved too costly for the Saints, but could they have their eye on Paxton Lynch out of Memphis?

"If they feel strongly about Paxton Lynch, they are a team to watch late in the Top 10," Rapoport tweeted.
Armed with the No. 12 overall pick, the Saints sit in solid position to move up if they believe the 49ers (at No. 7) or Browns (at No. 8) could jump on Lynch come Thursday night

Trade down with San Fran to 7 and get some picks. Then turn around and trade 7 to the Saints. End up with a bunch of 2nd rounders and 3rd rounders.

LOL.

I wish we could trade down with SF. If Ramsey, Zeke, Bosa and Buckner are all there, trade down and get one of them

Agreed.

The only outcome I am hoping for now is a trade down. But I know that's likely to not happen. I won't be excited or disappointed if we pick at 4. Largely just be indifferent.

Yeah, I've got my guy (Zeke) but we've talked all of these prospects to death and I would honestly be content with any of those four. Getting some extra picks and one of these guys would be ideal

Shame. Would have loved a trade up to the late first to grab him.

Me too, unfortunately as soon as it became apparent that the top 2 QBs were going 1-2 overall, the remaining QBs were all going to go higher than before the trades.

I swear we are the only team with an aging injured QB that won't try and bring in a young prospect... It's really kind of odd. Yes I know SD hasn't either, but you get my point.

Always thought some team would grab Lynch within the first 15 picks. The ceiling is too high for this kid for a team not to gamble on inthe first round

Well I take it they screwed up the Garrett pick last year then huh??

Is it true Lynch scored an 18 on the Wonderlic? That could not possibly be a good thing for a QB.

If the Saints came calling with the value for the #4 pick, how does everybody feel about dropping down to #12?

It's because we know Romo had 5 years and no one else does

Just ask jerry if you don't believe me

If NO is looking past Brees..

then us looking past Romo seems a late move.

NO is so much more a top Franchise than we are.

They have won SBs and Conference and Division titles while we continue to rebuild the team each year to be more Romo Friendly.

What a joke.

Yeah, don't believe everything u read. They just drafted Garret Grayson in the 3rd round last year. It's a little early for them to give up on a prospect that hasn't seen any action.
