Matt Mosley on C. Cook

On NFL.com the three highest rated defensive players left are lineman which makes sense because everyone said this year was deep for DTs. I wonder if they'll go BPA or need.

Hassan Ridgeway 6.0

Sources Tell Us
"He's more talented than Malcolm Brown was coming out but his conditioning and injuries worry you. With time and money will his weight balloon? Will he be motivated to work in the offseason? He would have benefited by going back to school." -- NFL general manager
NFL Comparison
Kawaan Short
Bottom Line
Ridgeway didn't put together as productive and flashy a junior campaign as he did a sophomore season, but that was due partially to nagging injuries. You can watch snap after snap and clear losses to the blocker are hard to find. Ridgeway has a rare combination of power and athleticism that give him the potential to impact the game on all three downs. His talent could make him the most impactful defensive tackle to come out of this draft, but his floor is lower than some due to concerns over health and conditioning.

Andrew Billings 6.0

Strengths
Elite power with a weightlifting background. Generates booming power from hip explosion and when his leverage is on point, he can be menacing. Moved from offensive line to defensive line in college and is getting better by leaps and bounds each year. Drops his pad level even lower when splitting double teams and charging through gaps. Uses violent, powerful swats and slaps to free of opposing hand placement. Instant reaction time makes it difficult to cross his face. Gets arm extension into blocker and stays clean as he pursues laterally. Ridiculous closing burst to the sideline for a big man. Dominates single blocks and is a surefire tackler when he gets hands on a running back. Improving pass rusher with an effective bull rush.

Willie Henry 5.9

NFL Comparison
Star Lotulelei
Bottom Line
Henry is an athletic 3-technique who turns 21 in March and should continue to add functional mass and power to battle and win at the point of attack. Henry’s sack numbers were bolstered by his work in T/E twists and might not be indicative of his ability to beat pass protection consistently, but his understanding of twists and closeout quickness could keep him on the field on third downs. Henry should find his way into a starting lineup sooner rather than later.

I would have this in my head waaaay too much if we drafted Hassan Ridgeway

Someone needs to send Jerry a video of Cook melting down vs Alabama in the semi finals. That game alone should convince anybody Cook has no cahones.

He reminds me of that QB in "Draft Day" that heard the foot steps and wasn't a good teammate...that is Connor Cook. Your QB has to be a leader and well liked by the team. Perhaps we can find a 6th round QB ala Tom Brady... For me. I like like the QB out of Stanford, Kevin Hogan.

Forget QB at this point
Get judon and Blair and see if we can develope a stud out of one of them
I wanted a QB but don't want a QB just to be taking a QB. If they want a guy to develope get Allen in the 5th. He's as good as anyone left and he is a guy who got better every game he played

I'm starting to think Dallas may look for an existing QB to be a backup. The only names that I think come to mind are Kaepernick and maaaybe Bryce Petty (especially if Jets re-sign Fitzpatrick).

Both would be... um, ugh.

I think Smith would most likely be the odd man out if the bring back Fitzpatrick

Ron Blair, DE, App St

Yes, I can't see us drafting another interior lineman unless Marinelli wants his rushmen to become squashmen.

I can see it now: T. Crawford, Collins, Billings, Thornton, your Dallas Cowboys' starting defensive line.
