I get it.
Both were horrible.
Both should have never happened,

But why is it that it gets brought or movies made etc over and over.

You don't hear about other nationalities/religions/faces as often.

Irish
Italian
Etc

The holocaust gets as much attention as it did, due to the sheer size and concentrated effort devoted to it. By no way am I saying these other tragedies aren't a big deal, but the numbers for the Armenian genocide are a fraction of the Holocaust. I'd say slavery gets more attention because it happened in this country as opposed to a country many can't even find on a map.

In the US at least, these two events are directly or indirectly linked to two of the worst wars this country has even been involved in.

The Holocaust, having been so unimaginable in what was considered a highly sophisticated society, and having occurred relatively recently and right in the middle of the latest World War, is impossible to ignore. I mean, we are talking some of the greatest minds in world history--artists, scientists, etc--getting slaughtered. Millions--men, women, children. Based on being Jewish.

The **** Socialist Party. (National Socialist German Worker's Party)
Giant centralized government at it's worst...unless we also look at the 10s of millions murder by China's Socialist party...or Russia's, or....well, you get the picture.
Nuts

Slavery has happened in almost every society that ever existed--and still occurs in places in Africa. But in a nation claiming to be home of the free, well, even if it was 150-200 years ago, it stood out more than others.
And then, of course, we had the American Civil War as a partial result of it.
Also nuts

The USA still carries the monetary and social baggage of slavery in 2016. Billions ( trillions?) of dollars in government programs over many decades, ongoing racial division which actually got worse the last few years, etc, etc.

The price was and is MASSIVELY steep indeed. The US will continue to pay for this.

Yep, and you don't hear how horrible the Nipponese Empire was circa WW2 and before either.

The Armenian genocide hasn't received near enough attention. Let's see a movie about that.

This.

The story of the Armenian's is very sad and it's virtually unknown to most in the western Hemisphere.

What happened to the Russian people (and other Soviet satellites) during the Stalin era was about as ugly as it gets when it comes to treating a people(s) like absolute ****.

And like the Armenian' story... It goes unknown by most in this part of the world.

In my view Stalin was on Hitler's level of being a "monster".

As mentioned early, the holocaust (ie WW2) and slavery (civil war) had a much bigger effect in this country than these other events.

One life is too many.

I am just looking for coverage of all.

It's a true depiction of history. Not picked based on impact etc.

Its our history and its gonna attract a broader audience.

Atrocities in other countries unfortunately are more of a niche market here

The Jewish community has kept the Holocaust in the media through their influence and ownership of many media outlets as well as very heavy influence in Hollywood. I was surprised to find out that a very large percentage of actors , media members , and even the producers, directors , executives, etc are Jewish. Most of the money that finances the media and Holloywood is from people of the Jewish faith. This is certainly no accident and the Jewish community has kept the Holocaust in the public's eye as a reminder of the horrors that their people endured. They are a very organized minority and it is no accident that they keep the Holocaust in the public's memory.bit also helps that Americans had first hand accounts of the events due to our involvement in WW2. . The African American community has organized to keep slavery fresh in our minds and they have followed the success of the Jewish activist in reminding the world about the cruelty of slavery and that it existed right here in the land of the free. Both groups have organized great public relations campaigns that has worked to educate people on this part of history. . Other groups such as the Native Americans has not brought as much attention to their mistreatment. It really depends on the money that is invested to remind the public of certain parts of history of how certain groups have been mistreated. I hate to say it, but there are many more groups in various eras of history that deserves just as much attention, if not more than the Holocaust and American slavery. Some people act as if slavery only existed in the US and we was the last to abolish it. The truth is that slavery is alive and well in Africa today , but there is not the money to push for a PR campaign to bring attention to it. Modern schools only picks and chooses the parts of history to study. It leaves out too much and that is a shame . Modern revisionist history has screwed things up so bad that people don't know what to believe. There are too many groups that wants to play the victim role due to the revisionist teachings.

we didn't have any role in the holocaust

But it was a part of a war we were involved. There perpetrators were enemies of the USA. So therefore there holocaust is connected to our history

We also liberated many camps. So yes, we did have a role in the holocaust
