Rich people from the US supported Hitler's rise to power with large sums of money (been documented). That in itself was a part of the role in the holocaust.
This.
The story of the Armenian's is very sad and it's virtually unknown to most in the western Hemisphere.

Its perception. Americans connect with the holocaust and treat it as part of our due to the fact that it was a byproduct of a major war we had a very prominent role in. Wheather you agree that they should or shouldn't, Americans connect with the holocaust as if it was our own history. Its probably a means of further demonozing our enemyWe certainly had a role in ending it, but in the context of what he was saying, that our history attracts a broader audience, I'd say we weren't mentioned in Schindler's list at all. And while a movie like Saving Private Ryan certainly would have the US in a prominent role, any movie on the holocaust, not the war it self, would not have much US involvement.
