Dallas Police have a great reputation for working with protesters (and the community in general for that matter). They even get selfies with protesters and the force is very proactive on social media.
This protest was again totally peaceful.
Until that is some cowardly snipers triangulated officers who were protecting peaceful protestors that were exercising their 1st amendment rights.

Anyway...tonight was very freaky for me, my wife, and young kids.
We went to a movie very near downtown and were driving right toward all this mess right about the time it took place...just a few block away.
We saw police cars coming in from all directions so we detoured.
When we got home turned on the TV and it was just unfolding.
Sickening.

Yeah, that's part of what is so sickening about this. It sure sounds like the shooters used what had been a completely peaceful protest as cover to carry out a coordinated attack on officers.

That's pretty true.

DPD has done a great job of protecting protests and parades... Not that anyone deserves what happened tonight, but Especially not DPD. Just don't see the correlation here-- attacking cops that were doing exactly what they were supposed to?

It's just baffling.

I should of been asleep hours ago. I can't go to bed. So sad. Such an eerie feeling here tonight. Just so sad.

Did I just hear they have perps{both male and female?} in custody? Huntsville is calling............

I will tell you that this is the craziest thing I've ever seen. Everything has to be an extreme right now from politics to media that control the airwaves. I'm to young but was the 60's like this?

This is not a gun control thread. That's the only warning I'm going to issue on the topic, so please take it seriously.

Thoughts and prayers are with the families of the injured and the dead.
