Can't name a favorite but another one that was greatly under rated and overly hated by the general public would be Zimmer. 4-3 coach that did pretty well with the switch to 3-4, not his fault that his defensive secondary was average at best.

Who is your favorite all-time assistant coach and why?

For me it's Norv Turner. I don't think he was a great head coach, but he really did a great job and you never hear him and Jimmy Johnson being friends, etc. I think the players just needed him and he knew how to put them in the best situation to win.

Danny Reeves and Mike Ditka.

Dave Wannstedt. Because he was good.

Toss up bw him and Norv for me. EDIT: After seeing philadon's post above, forgot we had Payton under BP but lost him to NO...imagine what he could've done with Romo.:omg:

I would add Zimmer, too.

He kept us good for a long time.

Glad to see him succeeding in Minmy.

I have to say Stautner as well. My second choice would be Zimmer by a mile. I think he was vastly underrated as a coordinator and scapegoated to a ridiculous degree. I wish he was the head man in Dallas. IMHO, Zim is the best coach from the Jimmy Johnson tree.
