You do realize this is football? Right?

This is about where I land on it. It sucks. They can be a huge problem if they recur, but it's football and they happen. We don't have any notion of the degree, either. Just keep him out of the game and let him be ready for the season.

Which is all I was saying. Now that he has a concussion, it's a concern going forward.

So does this mean he will talk his way into seeing some playing time next week?

I don't get the hate on Crawford. Yeah, maybe his contract is an issue but that's not his fault.

I expect a big season from him.

I do, too. He and Lawrence are the DLs I've got real confidence in.

And he played through a painful injury last season. That oughta buy him props from the fans for a bit.

Be fun to see Butler playing dez's spot with the starters. Bummer dez wont be playing this week though.

also Jerry just said he doesn't know if Zeke will play Thursday. Said he has been everything we thought he would be but might not play Thursday.

also mentioned that they like andy jones a lot.

They don't want film getting out on Zeke....:D

Not every player gets a concussion.

And the reason why it's a big deal is studies show once you get a concussion, your chances of a 2nd or 3rd go up. In today's NFL with the CTE links and the protocols in place, a player like Dez getting a concussion is a concern. A fairly large concern.

Was just about to post something to this, once you get one, you are more prone to another. So in this case, shut him down from the more physical activities until game week vs. the giants.

I don't think there's any question that Crawford is a tough guy - he overcame an achilles tear and played through a labrum tear last year.

As an undersized DT, his snaps need to be spotted though. This is why the Collins pick is so critical. If Collins can play to his potential, the Cowboys have the capability of having two high energy players inside at the 3T position where there is no dropoff between the starter and reserve in terms of disruption and production.

Hope Collins is completely over his foot injury.

Concussions don't make you injury prone. But sure

His history makes him injury prone. Love his spunk and toughness, but that has seemed to lead to him getting inured a lot. Very physical, searching out contact and not going down for every inch. Like it, but not always smart. Emmitt used to know how to avoid the big hits. Dez doesnt seem smart enough for that. Just sayin

I don't know. I don't really have a case other than I think people are overreacting. There were 182 reported concussions in the regular season last year.

Again this isn't hard to figure out. Studies show that once you get a concussion history, you are more likely to get another concussion than someone who has not. The fact there were 182 concussions reported last year is fairly meaningless because it doesn't change the recurring concussion problem.

So that's why it's a concern. Our star WR now has a concussion history.

No, his career isn't over. But the fact he now has a reported concussion is a cause for some concern going forward because the next concussion is more likely now, and if he does get one, there is some evidence that subsequent concussions can actually have bigger side effects than the previous ones.

Bah, that sucks. I'm disappointed I'll have to wait til Wk1 to see Romo/Dez/Elliot on the field together. Being patient sucks.
