No one looked great and that is depressing. (Besides Dan)

Usually in close losses like this there is someone who stands out. Lee is usually all over the field or Romo would look good or Dez would ball out, but none of that happened. We looked bad, but our players didn't look like they weren't just playing well, they looked bad. Free looked awful, our linebackers were dreadful, Dak looked okay at times, Elliott looked pedestrian, our secondary looked par for the course, even our WRs looked bad. I feel like our skill level just doesn't match up with others in the league and that we won't see much improvement.

I thought the whole team played pretty good besides the front 7 on D.

I thought our secondary played well especially Carr and Claiborne. Scandrick gave up a huge pass but these things happen with no preseason. Cruz TD was against rookie Brown with what almost was a pick.

The Shepard TD Brown had position to knock it out until Wilcox lay the boom on his team mate.

This is typical the first game, or 2. It is a result of the coaches refusing to play them as a TEAM in the preseason.
They get too cute in practices too, moving players around, and experimenting with a mix of 1st and 2nd team players. Then saying it is to put them in different situations to be versatile and all that crap.

How about putting them at their natural positions and learn that first. Then get better with the reps that it takes to be good and not rusty on opening day.

This kind of short sighted outlook is always funny.

Other than Beckham's 75 yarder, secondary held Eli to a pedestrian under 200 yds. They have not done that in Dallas in years. The "bad looking" wr's seemed to be able tokeep the ball, for the majority of the first half against a Giants team, that spent over $100 million on their defense and came as close as you can to letting a 4th round rookie beat them. I guess it's all in how you see it. If Dak finished one or two first half drives or Williams gets out of bounds, this post doesn't exist.

After sleeping on it, you're right. I didn't expect them to go undefeated and there were bright spots.

Alf looked good, but the coaching staff's something works and it must be stopped mentality took over. I started to have flashbacks to the last couple of years with Barber when they kept insisting to feed him when it was obvious that Felix and Choice were more productive.

Look at another bright side, they play Washington next week and the Skins are not looking very good on either side of the ball right now.

I understand we lost but this is not an objective or reasonable assessment. It's clearly emotion driven after a loss.

If we were as terrible as you describe it wouldn't have been a close game; we would've gotten killed.

We won TOP and the turnover battle.

We lost the game because we couldn't finish off long drives with TD's. And the D wilted at the end. That's it.

My thoughts were that in close games when it comes down to the wire, you have someone stand out as great. The Broncos game a few years ago, Romo looked great. The Colt McCoy Washington game a few years ago, Murray was a beast. Sean Lee in the win or go home game against the Giants. All of those games were games we lost, but we had guys that really stood out and played great. Something that ave some sort of hope and a bright spot. We didn't have that yesterday. Yeah, Morris looked good in the few carries he got, but I wouldn't say that's great.

It's disconcerting to see everyone play to the level of everyone else, average. Our stars are going to have to step up (Zeke, Dez, Crawford) in order to get anywhere this year.
