Tibial hairline fracture, will be out 4-6 weeks.

Straight from my dr PT buddy. He could be wrong, but he knows his stuff.

Probably had the MRI Monday.

What does that even mean? Beasley gets open? How are people making message board wagers now?
Send me the money and I'll "hold" it in escrow.
This is getting weird.

Pretty self explanatory. The post basically said let's see Beasley get open without Dez. I'm saying he will still be productive without Dez.

Probably would've been a TD. He also hit Beas on that deep route, so hopefully we can compensate for Dez if he is out. Not a small task, but Dak continues to improve his game (I.e. the longer routes).

And Beas was getting swallowed up in the first couple games on those long out/go routes, it was nice to see him and Dak connect. If Dak had led him just a scootch more, it was a touchdown, but I digress. Fantastic play by both players. Maybe that Randy Moss QB camp will pay off in the form of some 40-50 yd bombs behind the cover safety for quick, little Beas :)

The Dez injury still stings (duh, right)

Dez is a beast. Dak does a good job of moving the football around, though. SF is going to load up to stop Elliott no matter who's in there because they struggle against the run, otherwise, and they know we're going to run it.

Jimmie Ward's going to probably be out this week, too, which sort of offsets Dez being out (if Dez is really out; I think there's a good chance he plays). Not really, but kind of. At least we'd have backup on backup for that matchup with what ought to be reasonable time to throw the ball.

To be fair, I don't think we can sit and say what should Dallas or Dez do. A few important factors to consider before stating what should be done are:

1) Is the bone that has the fracture weight bearing?
2) Chance of worsening if played on?
3) Potential of causing different injuries
3) How much pain and How much will it slow down Dez?

I'm sure between now and Sunday, management, team doctors and Dez will discuss this all and come up with a plan. Without knowing any of these factors I don't see the point in the reacting.

No, I'm just pissed off, like I bet Dez's coaches and the team's front office are at him.

And if I've repeated myself it's in direct response to others responding to me.

I love Dez and have his jersey hanging in my closet. That doesn't mean I can't complain at his stupid decision which will certainly hurt his team. Sick of this guy getting hurt and this one was 100% avoidable.

Look for Brice Butler and Terrance Williams as your starting WRs this Sunday. It's okay though, at least our injured star WR who makes a boatload of $$$ is a tough guy who never gets tackled without a fight! Yippee!!!
Id bet money the coaches and front office arent mad at him for playing the game the way they pay him to play it. Keep beating your chest though. Its fun to see

After seeing how SF stopped Todd Gurley, im more than scared if Dez doesnt suit up.

Dude you have to be kidding me? It was a routine play and not a FORCE for extra yardage. Chalk it up to football. He's running up the sidelines and his foot/ankle gets caught awkwardly under the defender then his knee gets slammed. He's playing football. Blaming this on Dez is just the wrong route. Let's hope he gets healthy.
Re-watch the play and you'll see that he had 2 clear options.

Option 1: Head out of bounds and, at most, get shoved harmlessly towards the sidelines.

Option 2: Attempt to stiff-arm the LB and stay inbounds, despite the fact that the secondary was in pursuit and you wouldn't have gained more than a couple yards EVEN IF you avoided the LB's tackle.

Then remember that he already had the yardage for the 1st down... this happened in the 1st quarter of the game... and the game was in Week 3.

"Situational football" is a thing. You should learn about it sometime.

This stinks. Butler and Twill seem like the same player.

Fair enough. I have the game on DVR so I'll re-watch. As I remember it, it wasn't as black and white as you're stating but I'll take another look. Regardless, Dez has advanced from his beginnings to all-pro superstar by playing the best way he knows how. I don't remember the play as egregious, reckless or simply excessive and I love the way he plays. I just think your stance is wasted negative energy and just the wrong direction at this point either way.

Playmakers try to make plays, you shouldn't get mad when they get hurt doing it. Would you get mad at Zack Martin for getting to the second level and hurting himself making a block? Because that is known to happen in football. I guess that wouldn't fall under "situational" football and he should just let the LB take Zeke down.

LOL!

Yeah, "fracture" and "knee" in the same sentence shouldn't be a talking point, you guys. No biggie!

You don't tell competitive athletes to not play hard. If he ran out of bounds he could have slipped and tore his ACL. People get injured and things happen... You can't prevent that.

How does your buddy know where the fracture is?

He saw the injury, said that's common there, also common with MCL sprain "knee angles in, outside joint surface pinches together"

ESPN updated news, buddy called it

Yup, I think even if Dez is in we are going to force our will with Zeke, especially off the heels of last week's performance and how close it mirrored the Murray approach of '14.

Ward being is out is huge, we need our receivers to step up and capitalize on that. This 9er game shouldn't be bad if we approach it the way we did last week's game, coupled with Dak's ongoing development.

It's the upcoming schedule after this one that causes pause for alarm, but I suppose that discussion is for another thread :)

ETA -- Jimmie Ward is gonna be out for the next couple games at least, so we're missing him for sure!

I hope so. I feel great with Dak spreading it around!

If the LB was the only player standing between Dez and a long TD, fine. Try to get past him and take it to the house.

But we're talking about a couple of yards. He wasn't going to break this for a long gain. There's a time and a place to fight for an extra yard or 2, and this was neither.

It's not a sign of weakness to step out of bounds when there's nothing much to gain and there's a defender in pursuit. Tough, Hall of Fame-type of WRs do this regularly to preserve their bodies. It's a smart move.

Dez is one of the most gifted players I've seen. However , he's also one of the dumbest. He loses control of the ball in the clutch, he's always getting injured over stupid stuff like an extra yard etc. he's just unreliable.
