Kind of interesting, the article is tracking 10 offensive rookie of the year candidates and 2 of them are Cowboys.

3 Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys
The favorite for the Offensive Rookie of the Year heading into the season, Elliott started slowly but broke out against the Bears in Week 3, rushing for 140 yards. You know the competition is tough when Elliott, who leads the NFC in rushing, is sitting third on this list.

Rushing stats: 71 carries, 274 yards, 2 TDs

2 Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys
Where would the Dallas Cowboys be without Tony Romo? In a pretty good position, thanks to Prescott’s tremendous start. Just like Eagles QB Carson Wentz, Prescott has yet to throw his first interception and has his team in position to battle for the NFC East title.

Passing stats: 66 of 99, 767 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT

Ya gotta put Wentz at #1, because of the statistical advantage he's got, but I genuinely think what Dak has done is more impressive so far.

Then again, I don't think what Elliott has done is all that impressive. He's pretty much just taken what was there.

The way some people talk about Myles Jack, you'd think he would be on top of the list.

There's a really good clipping out there that shows how much of Wentz's passing has been unimpressive dump offs, which ironically is what Dak is criticized for.

Wentz throws a screen on just over 25 percent of passes, and 40-50 percent of his completions are under 5 yards and are his first read.

To add, I've noticed that Wentz only reads half the field most plays. He has two shallow receiving options and he usually just bumps over to the second.

The biggest knock on Wentz coming out was his work with his progressions, and we really haven't seen him have to deal with that so much yet.

Yeah, I haven't seen any of his games, actually. Only the cutups for all of his passing attempts for each game. It's pretty obvious when you watch them all laid out what they're doing with him.

Hey, they're having success with it, so I'm not knocking it too hard, but it hardly makes him elite yet. Except when he does throw it downfield and his mechanics aren't off, because, man, he has beautiful balls. The dude has Weeden balls. They're that beautiful.

Dak's more impressive in terms of his progressions and his ball handling. Though he doesn't have the huge arm. Both these guys are probably going to be good for a long time.

I think Elliott will win it. He's been pretty bad this season and is still tied for 2nd in the league for rushing. He'll only get better from here on out. Dak won't win it because Romo will be back too early for him to have a chance. And I think Wentz will eventually come back down to earth (along with the Eagles). It really comes down to whether or not QBs get a huge advantage over RBs in voting. I definitely could see Elliott leading the league in rushing. I can't see Wentz being the best statistical QB in the league. But if Wentz leads his team to the playoffs then who knows?

They run a lot of empty sets which allows him to only read half the field. You nailed with your post!

NFCE has the top four candidates so far.

I wish Dak had a coach that could tailor a game plan for him like Wentz has.

Dak is coming off the field when Romo is healthy. Zeke right now is on pace for just south of 1,500 and 10 TDs. Right now its a two horse race between him and Wentz and Wentz has both the advantage ( QB favor from voters) and disadvantage ( much bumpier road) of being a QB.

Unless Romo goes down again and Prescott becomes a legit candidate, Wentz controls his own destiny. If he gets the Eagles to the playoffs, Elliot may have to get 1600 yards to have a chance

Who are the voters and what are the criteria used in said voting?

There is always a strong northeast media bias because of the high # of major markets there. I doubt anyone but Wentz gets it unless he has a major meltdown and has it soon

The voters are @Risen Star and he has a strong Wentz bias.
