We could start at pick #114 but Cleveland decided on Cody Kessler in the 3rd and in all fairness, he hasn't been bad with a rating of 94.4.

Next up is the Jets at #118. Don't get me wrong I'm sure CB Juston Burris is everything they expected on special teams. However, with Geno out again and hot/cold Fitzpatrick at the helm again, I'm sure they wish they could do it all over again.

Houston at #119 is probably the team with the greatest regret. How much did they spend on Osweiller? The RB they drafted has touched the ball 4 times from scrimmage. Where would they be now with Dak Prescott handing off to Lamar Miller. I'm pretty sure his best friends would be the legit but presently wasted tandem of DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.

The Viking's Treadwater goes down. No problem, no mortgaging their future . They were smart enough to take Dak presciott with the 121st overall pick....except they weren't.

When 37 year old Carson Palmer goes down for the Cardinals they get treated to 32 year old Drew Stanton's 47.2 QB rating. Gotta believe they would be doing a tad better then 3-3-1 with a young Dak Prescott throwing to Larry Fitzgerald and handing the ball of to David Johnson. Their future would be set instead of being seriously in doubt.

Just two picks before the Cowboys, the cursed 49ers do it again, snatching the next Joe Montana right in front of them. Fortunes are reversed, their GM praised rather than condemned and the Cowboys no closer to finding Romo's replacement. The 49ers ride their wave of good fortune with Dak the toast of the city while the Cowboys are double dammed......after Tony once again goes down, they traded for Kaepernick.

Crazy to think Houston signed Osweiller to a 70 million dollar contract when they could have drafted Dak for a late 4th and far less $$. ;)

That GM needs to be fired. In the rush of the start of free agency they sign Osweiller to that contract without ever bringing him in. They had no idea what throws he can or cannot make. No idea what resides in between his ears.

It has to be the worse signing since the Albert Haynesworth if not worse.

the cowboys also passed him once in the 3rd and once in the 4th...

As the saying goes, hindsights 20-20. Dallas passed on him multiple times, including the 1st pick of the 4th round. We just got lucky folks. Do you honestly think Dallas would have waited until the 4th round to snag Dak knowing what they know now?.....

Off topic slightly : I was watching a Prescott highlight video and found myself having a hard time deciphering who has better arm strength? It seems like when totally healthy Romo has a slightly stronger arm but Prescott seems to have less throws that lack "zip" if that makes sense. Anybody have opinions on this?

This is kind of like when all the teams that passed on Brady and the Patriots did it 6 times I believe that year and twice in one round. I saw an interview on him and the fact that he was drafted in the sixth round still motivates him.

Yep -- just goes to show how blind luck can come your way when you don't even realize what a prize you're about to get.

Here's Jerry, trying desperately to finagle other lesser QBs into the fold when the best prize was waiting in the crowd. :)

The Browns shouldn't give a bleep about passing on Prescott. They should be lamenting passing on Wentz. He was there for them. Goff to the Rams was a poorly kept secret for weeks before the draft. They had their franchise guy and because they're the Cleveland Browns they screwed it up.

I actually think Prescott has more zip on most of his passes that Romo only dreams of having. Either that, or I'm imagining things!

Oh my lord the nerve you have to think they just got lucky.

LOL wait for it I said the same thing in the Jerry executive of the year thread. Heck people need to understand even with all the scouting this has been the great lottery ticket since Thomas Brady. I just hope stays the course of a quarter of Tommy footballs success.

But you remain open to the possibility of Haley's post? You didn't outright denounce it :)

You have hope, in the pit of your belly, it's there. I've seen it with thine own eyes, my friend :)

Of course. He's already better than I thought. But that doesn't mean he's a franchise QB. Which is all I want. Right now he's a rookie in a good spot running a limited offense and he's playing clean. Unlike my brethren trying to wash off their Anthony Hitchens tattoos, I need to see more before I become convinced he is the guy.
