How much of your expectations have changed?

So going into this season, I would be honest in saying I would have been very happy with the Cowboys just getting into the playoffs. Didn't really care if it was 6th seed or not.

So here we sit at 7-1 with the #1 seed as of today. Now I feel that my expectations have hit hyper drive and I think I would be disappointed in anything less than that elusive #1 seed. Don't get me wrong, I'll still take any seed they end up with, but I think I would feel let down to some degree if they are not the #1 seed at the end of the year.

This team really messes me up sometimes.

Anyone else feel this way?

I said 8-8 before the year. So needless to say, I am surprised.

I'm trying to keep my emotions grounded, but it's getting tougher as the weeks go by.

I'm now looking for a 1st round bye and a spot in the NFC Championship game. I don't dare hope for more. Yet.

Funny how expectations can change from being lower than a snake's belly to higher than a kite! At least, that sure tells the tale for me.

My expectation heading into the season was Dallas winning the division. No doubt they have exceeded how I felt they would be doing record wise at this time but my 1st expectation remains the same which is winning the NFC East.

I went from hoping for 9-7 to being disappointed if we aren't in the Super Bowl.

Home field is what I covet. Just keep winning week after week and the last couple of weeks in Decemeber will be wrapped up. In reality you could let Romo play a lot and still kill teams then! And Gregory can get tuned up!

I can't remember what I had us before the year.. I want to say 11-5 but no worse than 10-6...

Oh well..

I'm expecting 13-3.

If we get out of November without a loss than 14-2 is possible.

With the way the NFC is shaping up and being down this year, no reason why the Boys should not be in the NFCC game. And at home. So they have gone sky high with the way the team is going. The D should be getting better at the end of the year as well.

That beats the heck out of the way I thought when Tony went out and then Dez. I thought, not again. But it has turned into a fun season to say the least. Plus the bonus: optimism for the future.

The last 20 years have really turned me into a negative nincompoop. I keep waiting for the bottom to fall out and it hasn't happened yet which is good.

Like Cowherd said... That book wasn't published this year..

Reminds me of when I was in school. If I made a 69.5 I was happy that I passed. If I made an 89, I was ticked that I didn't make an A.
That being said, I thought 10-6, I now think 13-3, with a Superbowl win.

I already thought 11-5 or so pre-season (10-6 to 12-4 range) so it was higher than most.
I assumed Romo was back, we added Zeke, the young guys on defense would improve, Dez was back, etc.
So a slightly better version of 2014 but I thought maybe the schedule might be tougher..

Well, even with Dak at QB it's looking really good.
Yes, at the mid-point, the expectations are now higher than 11-5.

I thought with Tony back we would go maybe 11-5 and win a playoff game, at most. Now, with the somewhat miraculous improvement in our defense, I'm looking forward to a Super Bowl.:)

Yes. Cowboys have never gone 15-1 to begin with and for a team many had as no better than 8-8 to start the season I would say that would be the greatest season of all time.

I wonder what our longest win streak in franchise history is? I think the last time we pulled off 7 straight was '07 (could be wrong though). If we win Sunday it's gotta put us up there.
