Absolutely. Tackling. Especially when the DL get their hands on Rodgers. They must drop him. If he escapes, it's very likely to lead to a big completion downfield.

I like this matchup. Right now I think Lee is the smartest defensive player in the league. He has elite talent but there are guys more physically gifted. He IQ right now is off the charts.

Can anyone with a sophisticated knowledge of the game explain how these would play against each other, e.g. Reads they'd make off each other, strategies, etc.

I like learning about these types of things as I don't know the game at that level, the games and reads etc for various positions. Thanks in advance.

Lee may be the most important LB, but not the only one we'll need to make plays. I really liked the 3-2-6 alignment that Rod M. used when he had so many D-linemen out. The Packers are just not going to run the ball that often, so using that scheme to put more pressure on Rodgers is just what the doctor ordered. Not only do our D-linemen have to make plays, but also Lee, Wilson, Hitchens, Durant, & Gachkar must be ready to fly to the ball when Rodgers rolls out. Blow him up for sacks/hurries a few times out in space, & he'll be far less likely to leave the pocket. Of course, containing him inside the pocket in the first place would be nice. Having all of our DTs healthy will go a long way in keeping him from stepping up in the pocket.

That's one main part absent the last we faced these guys in the playoffs.

As long as we don't tackle Rodgers any where near after he releases the ball I'm happy. He's a roughing the passer penalty everytime

Remember in the 2014 playoff game there was no Sean Lee on the field. RoMc was a physical presence but inconsistent. Lee is intelligent, committed, and damn good and is a big part of why this defense is so successful this year. I feel a lot more comfortable that he's leading this group in this playoff rematch unlike 2014.

I think the key matchup is Rodgers vs. our secondary. Rodgers is not looking in the flat where Lee plays, but he's extending plays to hit a homerun.

The key match up is our DL vs their OL. It's pretty simple really. Rodgers isn't the typical QB that will get rid of the ball after his internal clock goes off. He will sit there until you make him move and shred the defense if you don't. If the Cowboys don't get pressure on him early and often, no secondary in football could cover long enough to be effective. And you really can't blitz him, because he's killed the blitz for years. The secondary or LBs don't matter if he has 5 seconds to dance around every dropback. That leaves the key match up as our DL vs their OL. Hopefully someone comes out and has a monster individual game on the DL.

Tackle properly
Stay disciplined and stay in your lanes. Don't try to be s hero
Be prepared for the no huddle up tempo offense
Don't be caught with too many Ben on the field
Keep Rodgers in the pocket: outside contain
Don't try to hit Rodgers hard just tackle him
