treat Dak like Cam Newton last year in the playoffs; let him run baby run, Carolina lost the SB bc they got away from running with Cam. It's the ultimate weapon and is a numbers mismatch for the defense. Thoughts?

I say let that other guy run the ball. He's pretty good. I can't think of his name right now though.

We'll definetely see Dak run a lot more in the post season.

I expect a lot of zone reads in the reDzone.

I agree, but I doubt we see much of it, I like his ad lib runs, but mostly he try to throw it.
Detroit game he did take off a few times.

It is a good weapon, and frustrates defenses/

I actually think zone read will be used more often this game than it has all season. Kinda how the 49ers and Kap destroyed the Packers in the playoffs a few years ago. Kap went off. Take advantage of Matthews and Peppers aggressive style. I don't want to see the Cowboys use it as much as the 49ers did in that game but I think a bit of an uptick would help out.
Gotta get GB to keep a safety in the box so Dez and Beasley can take advantage of the Packers weak CBs

So the theory is Carolina went away from their normal by not running Cam....then why should Dallas get away from their normal by running Dak....
no keep to the same formula as they have all year....power running game, dak takes what is given in the passing game. Run when he needs to, unless a designed QB draw / rollout for a TD.

And the Panthers lost because they got beat by a better team. Not because Cam didn't run, because they did not let him run. Or pass.

I think with the exception of the Giants games ( Where he didn't threaten to run enough) he has been using his running ability the correct way! Couple hits he took i would like to take back but he has been smart about it and thats all i ask !

Right. When you start experimenting in the playoffs, you concoct a defeat for yourself. The Cowboys of 2007 did that. They passed to set up the run with Marion Barber III at the end of the game. In the divisional round, they ran more with Barber early, but in the second half, Barber and the offensive line was gassed. That was part of the reason they lost the game, IMO.

I'd encourage Dak to use his legs only when he needs to. But I wouldn't devise a strategy to have him run more. Besides, his legs are already a weapon in the passing game.

I like that counter option we used to run if Dak kept it he could roll out and throw or run. I want a lot of 4 wide's, then motion Zeke out for 5 wide's. In other words WE MUST USE THE WHOLE FIELD.

Dak should only run:

1. If it's there
2. If they are just dialed in on his passing and he needs to make them think
3. That's it!

Furthermore, I think Cam bailed or was scared to run super bowl. I think he lost them the game because he wouldn't take off!

Do u think we went away from our successful formula in 2007 mainly because of TO's ankle injury? Or were there other factors involved?

Fastest way to get your QB injured.
